Also disclosed herein are a converting line containing the extraction assembly, and methods for producing coreless logs.
PROCESS AND DEVICE FOR LOADING, UNLOADING AND CONTINOUS WINDING OF PRODUCT ON A REEL
The device incorporates a mobile station with: a first shaft (6) to support a movable reel (4) and to actuate rotation of the movable reel (4) around the first shaft (6); gripping means (10) for gripping and releasing the movable reel (4) from a first side of the movable reel (4) closest to the first shaft (6); and transport means (15) to move the movable reel (4) in the direction of the first shaft (6) between the mobile station (1) and a loading position. The process handles one single reel (4) in each change, reducing labor and simplifying logistical management of reels (4). Likewise, the reels (4) are handled from one single side, the side closest to the first shaft (6). Therefore, space is freed up on the other side, providing more available space.
Roller arm assembly for temporary tape removal machine
A roller arm assembly for a temporary tape removal machines which roller assembly supports a spool assembly on a vehicle that removes temporary tape from a pavement surface. The roller assembly is attached to a chassis or frame of the vehicle and is pivotal between a raised and lowered position. The roller assembly includes a lower arm member and an upper arm member which are rotatably coupled together. The upper arm member supports a spool assembly and a hydraulic motor that rotates the spool assembly. The upper arm of the roller assembly can be rotated with respect to the lower arm to allow the spool assembly to be position on either side of the vehicle chassis or frame.
Dunnage system and method using a coil accumulator
A dunnage production system for producing coiled strips of dunnage includes a supply of strip-like dunnage, a coiler adjacent the supply and rotatable about a coiling axis for coiling a strip of the strip-like dunnage into a coil having a coiled configuration, and a tube aligned with the coiling axis. The tube has an internal diameter sized to receive the coil from the coiler in a discharge direction parallel to the coiling axis. The tube is capable of holding at least one coil in its coiled configuration until it is removed from the tube.
METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR PRODUCING CORELESS ROLLS OF PAPER
A machine forms a roll of convolutely wound web material. The machine includes a winding apparatus configured to receive a mandrel and the web material and wind the web material around the mandrel. A pulling device pulls the mandrel longitudinally to remove the mandrel from the roll after forming the roll. The machine further includes a restraint that engages the peripheral surface of the roll when the mandrel is pulled longitudinally to remove the mandrel from the roll. A method is also provided. In one aspect of the method, a web material is wound around a mandrel to form a roll of convolutely wound web material. The mandrel is pulled longitudinally after the step of winding the web material around the mandrel. The periphery of the roll is restrained from moving axially when the mandrel is pulled longitudinal. The mandrel is then removed from the roll.
Method and apparatus for producing coreless rolls of paper
A clasp is configured to engage an end of a tube. The clasp has a shaft that is insertable into a tube. The clasp includes a housing with clamping blocks that are spaced circumferentially around the shaft. The clamping blocks are moveable between a disengaged position in which the clamping blocks are spaced radially outwardly from the shaft at a distance sufficient such that a tube is insertable between the shaft and the clamping blocks, and an engaged position in which the clamping blocks are positioned radially inward of the disengaged position toward the shaft and are configured to press a tube disposed between the blocks and the shaft against the shaft. The clasp has at least one actuator engageable with at least one clamping block of the plurality of clamping blocks to move the at least one clamping block between the disengaged position and the engaged position.
METHOD FOR EXTRACTING A CORE FROM A REEL, MACHINE AND EXTRACTION STATION TO CARRY OUT SUCH METHOD
A method for extracting a core (1) from a reel (2) of paper is described, where the reel (1) has been wound in a winding station upstream of an extraction station (100) of the core (1); the method comprises the steps of providing an extraction element (3) having an expandable element (4), shaped to enter, when in the non-expanded form, within a cavity (5) defined by the inner wall (6) of the core (1) of the reel (2), the core (1) extends according to a central axis (X) which is substantially horizontal when the reel (2) is positioned for extraction; inserting the expandable element (4) of the extraction element (3) in the cavity (5) of the core (1) on which a roll of paper (20) is wound; expanding the expandable element (4) until it engages the inner wall (6) of the core (1); pulling the extraction element (3) in the opposite direction to that of insertion, to extract the core (1) from the reel (2); bring the expandable element (4) back to the non-expanded form; extracting the expandable element (4) from the core (1). A machine (10) for extracting a core (1) from a reel (2) of paper by means of such method and an extraction station (100) for extracting a core (1) from a reel (2) of paper comprising such machine (10) are further described.
Winding machine for winding strips of material
A winding station and a method for winding material webs, in particular foils or films, wherein during a continuous movement of the material web, a removal fork pivots the nearly full winding sleeve from a front position to a rear removal position while a new winding sleeve is moved to the winding position. The winding station is provided with a device to wind the material web automatically onto a new winding sleeve following the separation of the completed winding.
METHOD OF REMOVING A ROLL OF WOUND POLYMER FILM WITHOUT A CORE FROM A MANDREL
A method of plastic film coreless roll removal from a spindle, comprising pushing of the plastic film coreless roll from the spindle with a perforated wall, where pressurized air-water mixture is fed at pushing the roll, providing expansion of the inner diameter of the roll. The object of the claimed technical solution is to provide technical results, consisting in reduction of power consumption by decrease of compressed air flow rate, with simultaneous increase of speed and safekeeping of the roll at its removal from the spindle by reduction of friction between the internal roll surface and the spindle surface.
