WRAPPING MATERIAL ROLL AND METHOD FOR PRODUCTION THEREOF
A wrapping material roll includes a flexible sheet having a length and a width. The sheet is rolled concentrically about an axis parallel to the direction of the width such that a longitudinal end of the sheet is located along a circumferential side of the wrapping material roll. At least a part of the longitudinal end is folded along a folding line over at least part of the width.
GLUING GROUP FOR A REWINDING MACHINE FOR APPLYING GLUE TO AN END EDGE OF A LOG, REWINDING MACHINE BEARING SUCH GROUP AND RELATED GLUING METHOD
A gluing group for a rewinding machine for applying glue to an end edge of a log comprising a delivery roller (12) supported in an idle manner by supporting and translation guiding elements (15, 16), delivery means (20) for delivering a glue line (11) on one of the generatrices of the delivery roller (12), a linear actuator (30) connected to said delivery roller (12) to transmit the approaching and distancing movement of the delivery roller (12) against the paper (11) being wound onto a contrast roller (115).
A rewinding machine comprising such gluing group and a related method for gluing the end edge also form part of the invention.
Device for closing the tail end of a roll of web material, and method
A feeding path (P) is provided for rolls (R, R1) to be closed and a closing station placed along that path. Two rollers (15, 17) form a cradle (19) for receiving the rolls (R, R1). A closing member (21) is provided to close a tail end (L). A rotating assembly (23) rotates around an axis (A-A) transverse to the feeding path and has groups (27A, 27B, 27C) of arms (28A; 28B, 28C) arranged with respect to one another angularly displaced around the rotation axis of the rotating assembly (23). Each arm has a front part (29) to eject a roll (R, R1) from the cradle (19) and a back part (31) to prevent a subsequent roll entering the closing station until the ejection of a roll from the cradle (19). Rotation of assembly (23) causes closed roll ejection and allows a subsequent roll (R1) to enter and be closed.

DUNNAGE SYSTEM AND METHOD USING A COIL ACCUMULATOR
A dunnage production system for producing coiled strips of dunnage includes a supply of strip-like dunnage, a coiler adjacent the supply and rotatable about a coiling axis for coiling a strip of the strip-like dunnage into a coil having a coiled configuration, and a tube aligned with the coiling axis. The tube has an internal diameter sized to receive the coil from the coiler in a discharge direction parallel to the coiling axis. The tube is capable of holding at least one coil in its coiled configuration until it is removed from the tube.
Method of and an arrangement for securing a trailing end of a web in a web roll to a surface of the roll
A trailing end (14) of a web in a web roll (14, 14.1) is secured to a surface of the web roll in a slitter-winder (10) by attachment articles (30) which extend over a trailing end of the web on the roll surface. Each attachment article has an adhesive surface positioned on a path of movement of the web roll, facing toward the roll, and, while the roll is moved, it is attached on the surface of the web roll. An arrangement (11) for securing a trailing end of a web to the roll in a slitter-winder (10) has a roll handling system (24) to move the rolls (14) via a path, and an adhesive article distribution system (28) positioned to attachment the article, in which the two systems co-operate so that, as the rolls are moved, the attachment article is attached on the surface of the web roll.

APPARATUS AND METHOD FOR SECURING AN END OF A STRIP TO A TAMBOUR
A method for securing a web end of a paper web on a first drum during a change of drum, the method includes passing the web end through a nip between a Pope roller and the second drum and applying adhesive to an area of the web end on a downward-rotating area of the Pope roller after the web end is passed through the nip.

High back coil car designed to facilitate automatic banding on the coil car
A strip process line has a high back coil car for automatically banding coil of metal strip on the coil car. The process line runs while banding occurs on the coil car. The coil car includes an outer frame, and coil receiving saddle with a pair of blocker rolls or a V saddle, and a hold down arm and a plurality of strap guide channels. By the high back car being docked with an automatic loading station, the process line can run while the banding takes place on the coil car, and keeps the operator safely away from the coil car until the banding is completed.
