MEDIUM CONVEYING APPARATUS FOR CHANGING TORQUE LIMIT VALUE OF TORQUE LIMITER
A medium conveying apparatus includes a medium tray, a feed roller to feed media placed on the medium tray in order from the lower side, a brake roller located to face the feed roller, a torque limiter to control a load applied to the brake roller, and a changing member to change a limit value of a torque of the torque limiter according to a height of the media placed on the medium tray.
MEDIUM CONVEYING APPARATUS FOR CHANGING FORCE APPLIED TO BRAKE ROLLER BY CHANGING TORQUE LIMITER
A medium conveying apparatus includes a setting member to set a torque limiter that defines a maximum torque applied to a brake roller to a first torque limiter or a second torque limiter, a unit including the first torque limiter, the second torque limiter and the brake roller, and a transmission member to transmit a drive force to the first torque limiter. The unit is swingably supported so that a predetermined force acts on the brake roller in a direction away from the feed roller when the driving force is transmitted. A force in a direction in which the brake roller presses the feed roller when the second torque limiter defines the maximum torque applied to the brake roller is greater than the force in the direction in which the brake roller presses the feed roller when the first torque limiter defines the maximum torque applied to the brake roller.
SHEET CONVEYOR AND IMAGE FORMING SYSTEM
A sheet conveyor includes: a holder that detachably holds a sheet roll; a conveyance roller that conveys, by rotation, a sheet pulled out from the sheet roll; a first motor that rotates the conveyance roller; a second motor that rotates the sheet roll along with the conveyance of the sheet; a tension estimator that estimates tension of the sheet conveyed by the rotation of the conveyance roller; a measuring device that measures a physical quantity related to rotary motion of the conveyance roller; and a controller. The controller estimates acceleration torque of the second motor required for rotating the sheet roll depending on acceleration of the conveyance roller, based on rotation acceleration of the conveyance roller specified by the physical quantity measured by the measuring device, and calculates a feedforward control input for the second motor based on the acceleration torque estimated.
FRICTIONAL FEATURES FOR ROLLED SHEET PRODUCT DISPENSERS
Improvements to frictional features in rolled sheet product dispensers are provided herein. An example sheet product dispenser for enabling dispensing from a roll of sheet product is provided. The dispenser includes a moveable support portion for storing and rotating the roll of sheet product relative to a base portion. A loaded roll of sheet product is configured to rotate about a spindle during dispensing of the sheet product therefrom. The dispenser further includes a frictional feature attached to a movable support brake feature at a pivot point radially spaced apart from the spindle. The frictional feature is positioned to pivot about the pivot point toward the movable support brake feature when the roll of sheet product is loaded on the spindle such that the frictional feature applies a decreasing friction force on a side surface of the roll as the sheet product depletes.
Print media amount determination
The present subject matter describes determination of amount of print media present in an input tray of a printing system. In an example implementation of the present subject matter, a current operating torque of a motor that moves a pick arm for drawing print media from the input tray is monitored. The current operating torque is monitored while the pick arm is moved between a rest position and a pick-ready position. Based on the monitored operating torque, it is determined whether amount of print media present in the input tray is one of below and above a predefined amount of print media.

Method of making a coreless retail paper roll
A paper rewinding machine includes a rewinding assembly operable to produce coreless retail paper rolls.
Motor control device, sheet conveying apparatus, and image forming apparatus
A motor control device includes a phase determiner, a detector, and a controller configured to control the driving current so that a deviation between a value of a torque current component of the driving current detected by the detector and a target value of the torque current component is reduced, and perform field weakening for weakening an intensity of magnetic flux through the winding. In a state where a value corresponding to a rotational velocity is greater than a first predetermined value, the controller sets a degree of the field weakening to a first degree in a case where the value of the torque current component is greater than a second predetermined value, and sets the degree of the field weakening to a second degree smaller than the first degree in a case where the value of the torque current component is smaller than the second predetermined value.
