Stairlifts
A stairlift and/or a method of supporting a user on a stairlift in which the seat is configured to positively retain the user and in which the seat-to-footrest height is set so as to reduce flexure of the knee joints as well as to reduce the intrusion of the passenger into the stairway.
Stairlift
A stairlift may include a rail, a chair with an armrest, a carrier that has a drive motor and is drivable along the rail, a control unit, and a first input device located at the at least one armrest and configured to provide a signal to the control unit to transport a user in a first driving direction. The control unit may start or stop a movement of the carrier in the first direction based at least on the signal of the first input device. The stairlift may also include a second input device that is separate from the first input device, and configured to provide a signal to the control unit to transport the user in the first driving direction. Further, the control unit may be adapted to start or stop the movement of the carrier based on the signal of the second input device.

Stairlift carriage and a stairlift
A stairlift for conveying a load along a staircase includes a stairlift guide (stairlift rail), a carriage carried by the stairlift guide and moveable along the stairlift guide, the carriage comprising a carriage drive to drive the carriage along the stairlift guide. A stairlift carriage with reduced energy consumption comprises a body of revolution mounted hingably about a first axis to a frame of the stairlift carriage, while being able to rotate about an axis of rotation at a distance from said first axis.

Stairlift Overspeed Safety Systems
Systems, apparatuses, and methods are described for a stairlift overspeed safety system are disclosed. The overspeed safety system may include a centripetal cam assembly, a trigger assembly, and a jammer assembly. The centripetal cam assembly may include a spring-loaded plate and a plurality of centripetal cams connected to the spring-loaded plate, configured to move to an extended position when the rail speed exceeds the speed threshold. The trigger assembly may include a trigger plate configured to be pushed by at least one of the centripetal cams when moved to the extended position. Pushing the trigger plate may cause a switch to open to shut off power to the motorized stairlift. The jammer assembly may include a jammer configured to wedge between teeth of a rack and pinion of the motorized stairlift to initiate a deceleration to stop movement of the motorized stairlift.

Stair Assistance Device and System
A stair assistance device and a system for assisting individuals with traversing stairways is provided. Each stair assistance device includes a platform. The platform has a first end that is defined opposite of a second end. Each end has an interface. Each interface is designed to secure the end of the platform to one of a pair of lifts. The lifts are designed to vertically displace the platform from a raised position to a lowered position and vice versa. Multiple stair assistance devices may be used to assist an individual with traversing an entire stairway.

POWER MANAGEMENT OF A BATTERY OF A STAIR LIFT SYSTEM
A lift system comprises a rail and a carriage assembly comprising a seat or platform for supporting a person to be conveyed along the rail, drive means arranged to engage the rail and controllable to drive the carriage assembly along the rail, energy storage means arranged to power the drive means, input means operable by a user to provide an input signal indicative of a desired movement of the carriage assembly along the rail, and control means arranged to receive the input signal and control the drive means in response to the input signal. The system includes charging means arranged to charge the energy storage means when the carriage assembly is at a first charging position on the rail. The control means is arranged to monitor at least one voltage characteristic of the energy storage means and/or at least one operational characteristic of the stair lift, and generate an alert signal in response to one or more of those characteristics, or a difference between one or more of those characteristics, fulfilling a defined criterion, criteria, condition, or conditions.
