Elevator system

A method of controlling operation of an elevator system (2), the elevator system (2) including a hoistway (4) extending between a plurality of landings (8) situated on different floors (9), and at least one elevator car (6) configured for moving along the hoistway (4) between the plurality of landings (8). The method includes receiving a control input indicating a passenger transport request, wherein the control input comprises at least one passenger transport request parameter; monitoring passengers (30) within or outside the elevator car (6) and determining at least one passenger parameter associated with the passengers (30); comparing the at least one passenger transport request parameter with the at least one passenger parameter; and controlling further operation of the elevator system (2) based on the result of said comparison.

A method of controlling an elevator for a robot passenger includes detecting that at least one robot providing a service on at least one of the floors within a building has gotten on an elevator moving through the floors; controlling the elevator to move to a floor where the robot is to provide the service; and indicating whether the robot is using the elevator on at least one of an internal user interface and an external user interface of the elevator. The external user interface is configured to indicate that the elevator is being used as a dedicated elevator for the robot, and to disable at least one of indicators indicating whether the elevator is going up or down, the current location of the elevator, and a floor where the elevator is scheduled to stop, when the elevator is being used as a dedicated elevator for the robot.

In an elevator installation, an elevator control system is configured to receive an elevator call from a person via a call terminal and from a robot via a radio transceiver. A current transport capacity of the elevator installation is determined. An elevator call originating from the robot is recognized by the elevator control system, the call including a priority level set by a dispatcher, wherein the priority level is one of a high, a medium and a low priority range, wherein the elevator call is indicative of a boarding floor. The allocation of the elevator call originating from the robot to the elevator car is delayed if the priority level is set to the medium priority range and the current transport capacity is lower than a first threshold value, or if the priority level is set to the low priority range and the current transport capacity is lower than a second threshold value.

An elevator management device includes a database, a processor, and a communication unit. The database is configured to store a first identification number corresponding to a first layer representing a group of multiple buildings, a second identification number corresponding to a second layer representing one of the multiple buildings, a third identification number corresponding to a third layer representing multiple elevators in the one building, and a fourth identification number corresponding to a fourth layer representing one of the multiple elevators, the elevator management device receives an authentication key and an elevator control request via the communication unit, and the processor is configured to verify whether the received authentication key is an authentication key generated by the elevator management device and transmit the request to an elevator control terminal when a verification is made that the received authentication key is an authentication key generated by the elevator management device.
