Method and apparatus for a portable hoisting system (10) having an upright gin pole (38) which is attached to the upright standing very tall pole (14) or tower (15) using a plurality of straps (16). Extending away from the gin pole (38) is an angularly adjustable arm (40) which is user selectable to be either, e.g., at a 90-degree angle or a 45-degree angle, which arm (40) is supported by a brace (42) connected between the extension arm (40) and the upright gin pole (38). The gin pole (38) is hollow on its inside which allows a load line (18) to travel through the interior (60) of the gin pole (38) from its lower end to its upper outlet end and includes a plurality of pulleys (44) which allow the load line (18) to travel through the inside (60) of the hoisting system (10). Also included is a heel block (24) wherein one end of the load line (18) is connected to a capstan hoist (30) disposed on the front or rear end of a vehicle (32) and a ball (19) with hook (20) for supporting a load (22). Also included optionally is a tag line (34) connected to the load line (18) and being held by a ground member (36) for helping to control the movement of the load (22).

Hoists, platforms and davits are described as well as methods of securing same to telecommunication and other towers. The hoists, platforms and davits may be secured to the towers on a temporary basis using clamps. The clamps may include brackets and cables. The cables may be attached to the brackets, may wrap around the outer surface/perimeter of the tower pole/leg and may use tension to keep the bracket in place.

MODULAR SYSTEM FOR FAST CONNECTION OF HABITABLE MODULES
20170350113 · 2017-12-07 ·

The present invention refers to a modular system for fast connection of habitable modules (2) based on coupling standardized shipping containers to adjusted receiving structures (3). This system is based on a connecting plate system (1), habitable modules (2), a receiving structure (3), an alveolar structure (7) to connect said receiving structure (3) and automatic systems for transport, lifting, docking and coupling. The present invention refers also to a method of fast connection of habitable modules (2) within this modular structure.

Nacelle-mounted lift system for wind turbine
11261063 · 2022-03-01 ·

A nacelle-mountable lift system for mounting and dismounting a rotor blade of a wind turbine involves a jib crane, the jib crane having a base removably mountable on a nacelle of the wind turbine and a jib mounted on the base. The jib has a boom arm supported on the base by at least one support strut extending between the base and the boom arm. A winch is mounted on the boom arm. At least two sheaves are rotatably mounted on the boom arm. A holder is connectable to the blade. At least two lift cables pass over the at least two sheaves connecting the holder to the winch. The boom arm is positionable to position the holder beyond a rotor hub of the wind turbine when the crane is mounted on the nacelle.
