Line Tensioner
A line tensioner is disclosed. A winch has a winch drum with at least one groove over which a line is passed. The winch has a line tensioner assembly with a stationary cam surface and a plurality of line tensioners rotating with the winch drum. Each has a line gripping portion and a cam follower. The line gripping portion is brought into and out of contact with the line as the cam follower rides along at least a portion of the cam surface.

Line Gripping Winch Drum
A winch drum is disclosed. In a first aspect, a first set of teeth are positioned around an outer perimeter of a drum. The first set of teeth taper from a first crown to a first base. A second set of teeth are positioned around the outer perimeter of the drum. The second set of teeth taper from a second crown to a second base. The second set of teeth are offset from the first set of teeth such that a gap between the first bases and the second bases forms a sinusoidal channel for a line to follow the first set of teeth and the second set of teeth becomes a guide for the line so that the line can engage the sinusoidal channel. The line follows the sinusoidal channel and each change of direction along the sinusoidal path causes the line to engage by friction with the first bases and the second bases. In a second aspect, the drum includes a trough that follows a sinusoidal path and wherein the trough is narrower at its bottom than at its top.
Winch for securing a load
A winch for securing a load to a vehicle a is disclosed. The winch includes a mounting bracket with opposed flanges. The winch further includes a drum extending along an axis between a first end and a second end. The drum is mounted relative to the opposed flanges so that the drum is rotatable about its axis. The winch includes a gear received on the drum and a worm configured to mesh with the gear so that a rotation of the worm causes a rotation of the gear. The winch further includes a clutch assembly between the drum and the gear. The clutch assembly is biasable between a first configuration in which the gear is fixed relative to the drum about the axis of the drum and a second configuration in which the gear is rotatable relative to the drum about the axis of the drum.
CABLE TENSIONING CAPSTAN ASSEMBLY WITH INDEPENDENTLY ROTATABLE FLANGE
A cable tensioning capstan assembly comprises a capstan drum and at least a first traction flange. The capstan drum may be configured to support a cable (e.g., a cable is configured to wrap around the capstan drum), and the capstan drum may be configured to rotate about an output axis. The first traction flange may be disposed adjacent the first axial end of the capstan drum and configured to rotate about the output axis. In various embodiments, the first traction flange is independently rotatable relative to the capstan drum. A clutch assembly between an input shaft and the first traction flange may facilitate the independent rotatability of the first traction flange.
Fender davit device
A fender davit device is disclosed. The fender davit device in accordance with an aspect of the present disclosure includes a fender and a davit comprising a hauling line holding the fender and a winch configured to move the fender by winding or unwinding the hauling line. The fender davit device also includes a hauling line tension maintaining part configured to maintain a tension of the hauling line holding the fender to prevent the hauling line from breaking.
Wire puller
A wire puller may be provided. The wire puller may comprise a middle portion, a restraint frame, and a front portion. The middle portion may comprise a gear box, a front bracket, a back bracket, and a capstan. The gear box may comprise a drive shaft and the capstan may comprise a hook pin. The restraint frame may be attached to the back bracket. The front portion may be attached to the front bracket. The front portion may comprise a pivot frame, a tube, an arm, a first side plate, a second side plate, a roller, and a flip out support. The pivot frame may comprise a locking mechanism.
Load bearing apparatus and method
A load-bearing apparatus (100) comprises a winch apparatus (110), and a load-bearing spoolable medium (120) for connecting to a load, the load-bearing spoolable medium comprising a plurality of load-bearing elements (121-123); wherein at least a portion of the load-bearing spoolable medium is spooled about the winch apparatus. The provision of multiple load-bearing elements may help reduce the diameter appropriate for the winch apparatus, while maintaining the necessary load bearing capacity for supporting, paying in and/or paying out the load. The load-bearing apparatus may comprise a tension control apparatus (151-153) for controlling, applying and/or adjusting the tension of the load-bearing spoolable medium.
User interface for a portable power driven system
The present invention relates to a user interface for a portable power driven system, specifically in relation to an integrated user interface for controlling such an arrangement, and being applicable for example in relation to an ascender/descender arrangement. The invention also relates to a corresponding method and computer program product for operating such a portable power driven system.
Removable roof device
The removable roof system includes a set of guy ropes (10), each of the guy ropes extending between a top anchor point (2) and a bottom anchor point (3) of a structure to be covered, a velum (1) mobile between a deployed configuration in which the velum covers the structure to be covered and a retracted configuration in which the structure to be covered is uncovered, and a set of carriages (20) to which the velum is attached, arranged so as to be moved along the guy ropes of the set of guy ropes between the top and bottom anchor points in order to cause the velum to pass between its deployed and retracted configurations and comprising for each of the guy ropes of the set of guy ropes at least one motorized carriage, at least one motorized carriage cooperating with the associated guy rope by meshing or by alternating wedging.
