Embodiments provide for online and/or electronic card games such as blackjack that allow at least one card to be dealt from a special deck (e.g., a restricted deck) into a hand, while the remainder of the cards for that hand (and, in some embodiments, other hands involved in the game event) are dealt from a main/conventional deck. A common hand is maintained which is shared by a plurality of players. Players can then play out their common hand individually, with each player's point total being marked on a betting area for each player. Then, after all players have completed their hand, the dealer would complete his/her hand and the wagers can then be resolved.

Various embodiments include determining a value of a statistic describing cards that have been dealt from a deck, and modifying the rules of a game based on the statistic.
