Flow Cell Horn And Method Of Tuning
An ultrasonic horn includes a generally cylindrical input section having an energy input end, a generally cylindrical output section having an energy output end, and a throat section disposed between the input section and the output section, the throat section being defined by a side wall having a continuous curve and having a diameter tapering down from a diameter generally equal to a diameter of the input section on a side connected to the input section, and tapering down from a diameter generally equal to a diameter of the output section on a side connected to the output section, to a minimum throat diameter. The minimum throat diameter is smaller than the diameter of the output section and the diameter of the output section is smaller than the diameter of the input section. The side wall of the throat section has a constant radius of curvature.
Purification and Enrichment of Boron Nitride Nanotube Feedstocks
A method for purifying a boron nitride nanotube feedstock is disclosed, including an initial step of mixing a boron nitride nanotube (BNNT) feedstock with a solvent to form an initial mixture. This BNNT feedstock is made up of hexagonal boron nitride (h-BN) particles and less than about 50 weight percent BNNTs on a dry basis. This initial mixture is then sonicated within a treatment vessel using an ultrasonic probe. At least a portion of the initial mixture is filtered out of the treatment vessel and across a nanoporous membrane at the same as the sonication. In this manner, the method provides a filtrate which is enriched in h-BN particles relative to the initial mixture and a retentate which is enriched in BNNTs relative to the initial mixture.
DEVICE FOR SOLID/LIQUID EXTRACTION BY RADIAL ULTRASONIC IRRADIATION, AND ASSOCIATED EXTRACTION METHOD
Disclosed is a continuous solid/liquid extraction device including at least, from upstream to downstream: a mixer including an inlet and an outlet; an extraction coil including an inlet and an outlet, the inlet of the coil being connected to the outlet of the mixer; and a phase separator connected to the outlet of the coil. The same coil includes an ultrasonic probe with radial irradiation placed in the center of the coil.
PROCEDURE FOR SELECTIVE EXTRACTION OF ACTIVE PRINCIPLED AND/OR OLEORESINS FROM VEGETABLE MATERIAL AND RELATED SYSTEM
A process for the extraction of oleoresins from vegetable material by solvent comprising the following successive steps:
a solvent washing step of vegetable material in maceration means controlled in temperature and/or pressure for a time varying between 10 and 60 minutes, with a proportion between the mass of vegetable material to be treated and the volume of solvent between 1:5 kg/l 1:10 kg/l; the temperature is controlled by means of a cryogenic fluid and is between −60 ° C. and −100 ° C., thus obtaining a mixture containing a solid fraction, and a liquid fraction in which the oleoresins dissolved in the solvent are included;
a pressing step of the mixture in order to separate the solid fraction of vegetable material from the liquid fraction of solvent containing the oleoresins;
a step of filtration of the liquid fraction of the mixture;
a step of separation of the solvent from the liquid fraction of the mixture in an evaporator, controlled under pressure and temperature, in which the pressure is between 10 mbar and 50 mbar and the temperature is between 10° C. and 40° C., thus obtaining so the active principles and/or the oleoresins.
METHOD FOR IMPROVING SARCOPENIA BY USING PHELLINUS LINTEUS
The invention provides a method for improving sarcopenia of a subject in need thereof by using Phellinus linteus, in which the method includes administering an effective dose of composition to the subject, and the composition includes Phellinus linteus (NITE BP-03321 and BCRC 930210) as an effective substance. By using the aforementioned composition including an extract of a fermented product of the Phellinus linteus and/or its derivative, diameters of myotubes, amounts of muscles and muscle muscular endurance can be maintained, thereby improving sarcopenia.
Method and Apparatus for Sharing Co-Generated Energy When Processing Essential Elements from Plant Matter
Methods and apparatus consistent with the present disclosure may provide electrical energy and thermal to extraction or separation equipment. Methods and apparatus consistent with the present disclosure may extract and concentrate essential elements plant matter. An amount of wasted heat energy collected from a engine that powers an electrical generator may be provided to an evaporation or separation process when electrical power is provided to extraction or separation processing equipment. Computers or electronics that control equipment consistent with the present disclosure may be remotely controlled via a mobile electronic device, when desired. Such computers or electronics may receive sensor data related to the operation of plat matter extractors, related separation equipment, or other equipment may be used to manage a production line. As such, methods and apparatus consistent with the present disclosure may extract essential elements from cannabis plant matter and process those essential elements into cannabis extracts or isolates.
INDUCED CAVITATION MIXING APPARATUS
A cavitation mixing apparatus is provided for performing separations from solid material using subcritical liquid CO.sub.2. A cavitation inducing device inside a cavitation mixing vessel is held in place with a cavitation mixer mount comprising at least one fluid channel for equalizing gaseous pressure of CO.sub.2 around the cavitation inducing device. Also described is method of separating oils from a crude plant oil mixture by injecting crude plant oil into a pressurized mixing vessel comprising liquid carbon dioxide and mixing the crude oil with the liquid carbon dioxide under pressure using powered induced cavitation, the cavitation mixing vessel comprising an encapsulated cavitation inducing device.
COLD EXTRACTION METHOD FOR CANNABINOIDS AND TERPENES FROM CANNABIS BY ORGANIC SOLVENTS
The invention relates to methods of producing extracts from cannabis plant material, where the extracts comprise cannabinoids and terpenes. The methods comprise extracting fresh or dried plant material with a cold organic solvent. The methods allow for the extraction of cannabinoids and terpenes, while leaving behind impurities such as waxes and chlorophyll that are commonly found in extractions with room temperature (RT) or warm solvent extraction methods.
