PURGING SYSTEM FOR DESANDING VESSELS
A system and method of cleaning a desanding vessel is provided including determining that sand has settled in the accumulation zone of the vessel, isolating and depressurizing the vessel and introducing a flush or wash fluid into the vessel. The wash fluid is introduced via a flush inlet at or near the process gas outlet of the vessel, and at a purge rate to fluidize sand in the accumulation zone and form a slurry. The slurry is collected from the vessel at a flush outlet downstream from the flush inlet. The purge rate is maintained for elutriation of the fluidized sand in the slurry, through the vessel and out of the flush outlet.
SYSTEM AND METHOD OF SOLIDS CONDITIONING IN A FILTRATION SYSTEM
A method and apparatus for conditioning the settled solids in the bottom of a wastewater filtration tank to reduce the acidification of the sludge and prevent the excessive growth of undesirable biological growth.
Hydro-variant baffle cartridge system
Stormwater pollution prevention systems, vaults, boxes, and methods of treatment systems to capture pollutants from storm water runoff and prevent the conveyance of these pollutants from entering a receiving water body or landscape area. The systems can be part of a local permanent storm water drainage infrastructure, where the system combines both drainage conveyance, multi-level treatment techniques, variable hydraulic capabilities, and easy and inexpensive methods for servicing the systems. The systems can use cartridges, each having either a treatment media or treatment polymer inside, wherein the cartridges can be serviced without requiring anyone to enter into a treatment vault/box.
High-rate sedimentation tank and water treatment apparatus including the same
A high-rate sedimentation tank includes a hopper configured to be supplied with raw water including floc, at least one circular orifice pipe disposed at a lower portion of the hopper and configured to have the floc deposited therein as a sludge while passing the floc included in the raw water therethrough, and a sludge outlet configured to discharge the sludge deposited by passing through the circular orifice pipe to an outside of the hopper.
Separation vessel with enhanced particulate removal
A separation tank for crude oil. Fluid enters an inlet section of a center column of the tank via an offset inlet pipe so the fluid enters swirling. Solids that settle in the inlet section are removed by a center column drain and a solids removal system. Free gas rises and exits from the top of the tank. Liquid flows out of the center column via a diffuser that spirals the fluid evenly toward the wall of the tank where oil coalesces and wicks upward. Liquid flows downward around two flow diverting baffles where more oil coalesces and wicks upward via an oil conduit into the oil layer. The water flows under the lower flow diverting baffle and exits the tank through the outlet section. A large circular oil collector weir uniformly removes oil from the oil layer. Interface draw offs located below the oil-water interface remove excess BS&W.
Restrictive up flow media filter with servicing system
Vaults, boxes, chambers, systems, and methods of treatment systems to capture pollutants from storm water runoff and prevent the conveyance of these pollutants from entering a receiving water body or landscape area, which is designed to be a part of a local permanent storm water drainage infrastructure. The system enhances the removal efficiency of almost any type of filtration media by increasing contact time between storm water runoff and the media, and also offers an easy and inexpensive method for serving the media, without having to remove or replace the media. A media filter can include a bottom screen, a media layer, and at least one top lid that can be opened to allow for backwashing of the media layer without removing the media layer from the filter. A servicing system can include pivotal spray heads to pivot to parallel positions over a sloped floor to flush debris toward easy to reach locations to be vacuumed, and vertical spray heads which can break up debris bridges.
Collecting components of a fluid
Embodiments are described for separating collecting components from a multi-component fluid such as whole blood. Some embodiments provide for controlling the amount of a component, such as platelets, introduced into a separation chamber to ensure that the density of fluid in the separation chamber does not exceed a particular value. This may provide for collecting purer components. Other embodiments may provide for determining a chamber flow rate based on a concentration of a component in the multi-component fluid, which may then be used to determine a centrifuge speed, to collect purer concentrated components.
Stormwater vault apparatus and method
A stormwater vault and a process for servicing the stormwater vault speeds the process of cleaning the stormwater vault. The stormwater vault has a built in liquefaction system for liquefying settled debris in the vault which works together with a sloped or angled floor in the vault and vertical debris cutting spray nozzles. The settled debris is flushed toward the inlet to a vacuum removal line inserted into the vault through an access opening for removing the settled debris from the vault while compacted debris is collapsed by vertically extending water nozzles.
Apparatus for lifting liquid in a body of liquid
An apparatus to lift liquid from a reservoir of liquid and aerate the liquid. A downwardly opening enclosure has an inlet for liquid to flow from a reservoir into the enclosure. The enclosure includes a channel for the liquid to flow upward. An inner cone within an outer cone forms a gas chamber connected to an external gas compressor. Holes in the gas chamber walls allow the gas to flow into the channel and aerate the liquid which is returned to the reservoir.
Dual screen treatment systems with debris ramps and screened deflectors
Vaults, boxes, systems, and methods of treatment systems to capture pollutants from storm water runoff and prevent the conveyance of these pollutants from entering a receiving water body or landscape area, which is designed to be a part of a local permanent storm water drainage infrastructure. A single treatment box, vault and system combines both drainage conveyance, multi-level treatment techniques, variable hydraulic capabilities, and easy and inexpensive methods for servicing the system. A flow spreader having a triangular shape with straight sides, or concave sides or convex sides can split incoming water to pass into dual screen filtration systems. Additionally, an upwardly angled debris ramp above a downwardly angled screened defector can be located on both sides of the flow spreader to help direct debris and trash into dual screened boxes. The system can also include components selected from a shelf beneath the spreader, at least one baffle, skimmer, deflectors, media filtration and hydroslide water pressure lines with spray heads for cleaning debris on a sloped floor.
