A dishwasher appliance includes a wash tub, a sump for collecting wash fluid, and a cylindrical filter screen positioned within the sump. A wash pump assembly includes a wash pump impeller and a supply conduit, the wash pump impeller being configured for urging the wash fluid through the cylindrical filter screen and into the supply conduit. A filter cleaning assembly includes a filter cleaning manifold positioned proximate the cylindrical filter screen and in fluid communication with the supply conduit and one or more vertical spray arms extending along the vertical direction adjacent the cylindrical filter screen, the one or more vertical spray arms defining a plurality of outer ports in fluid communication with the filter cleaning manifold, the plurality of outer ports being positioned and oriented for directing the wash fluid at least partially along a circumferential direction about the cylindrical filter screen.

A water-using household appliance includes a pump sump, a filter element arranged at least partially in the pump sump, and a nozzle unit arranged on the pump sump. The nozzle unit produces an annular flow between the pump sump and the filter element in order to remove dirt from the filter element, with the annular flow flowing around the filter element only in one direction of flow.

A filter apparatus includes a filter, such as a cartridge, positioned within a housing. The filter apparatus has multiple ports and valves, so as to allow a user to easily switch between a filtration mode of filtering fluids and a maintenance mode of cleaning the filter. The filter can have a filter substrate in a housing and after filtrate builds up on the substrate, the substrate can be cleaned by directing a spray of fluid, such as from a ring of nozzles at the top of the housing, onto the substrate. A maintenance port can be provided to drain the debris washed from the substrate. The filter can switch between a backwash mode and a filtration mode.

Proposed is a filter assembly. The filter assembly includes: a housing configured to form a flow path for allowing a fluid to move in a first direction or a second direction opposite to the first direction; a plate inserted into the housing and formed therein with through-holes; and a plurality of protrusions protruding from the plate in the second direction.

A regenerative filter that includes a filter housing having inlet and outlet zones; a fluid path provided between the inlet and outlet zones; a plurality of filter elements each having an outer surface filter media applied thereto and functioning to filter particulate or contaminants from the fluid path. A pre-coating filter device includes: a filtration tank comprising a raw water inlet through which raw water flows on one side, and a drain port at the bottom; a top cover coupled to the upper part of the filtration tank and comprising a coupling hole through the middle part; a purified water discharge pipe coupled to the coupling hole of the top cover; a purified water storage space unit coupled to the lower part of the top cover and located within the filtration tank, and comprising a communication pipe connected to the central part; a filter coupling plate body coupled to the lower part of the purified water storage space unit and comprising a plurality of coupling holes through; and a pre-coating filter coupled to the coupling hole of the filter coupling plate body.

The present invention relates to a swimming pool filter which is designed to enhance the life of the pool's cartridge and sand filter from extremal harsh environmental conditions. The assembly is easy to install and remove and has openings formed to allow passage of the outwardly protruding inlet and outlet pipe. The protective cover includes fastening means to secure the filter apparatus's cylindrical body.

A self-clearing filter for filtering a fluid, the self-clearing filter comprising a filter wall having a lumenous side and an external side and a pump for creating a flux of the fluid to impinge against the external side of the filter wall. Methods for filtering a fluid by diverting a portion of the fluid flux to impinge against the filter.

The present invention provides a strainer for use with a water pump in a mine that includes a grill for preventing the ingress of solid material over predetermined dimensions, and an air discharge structure positioned so as to produce a continuous flow of air to remove the material from at least part of the grill, so that flow is maintained through the strainer.

A filtration apparatus for installation in a catch basin vault is described. A perforate support plate includes a retractable basket that lies below an opening in the support plate and is positioned below a manhole. Water flowing into the system flows onto the support plate and into the basket, which traps debris. The basket is slidable from an in-use position where the basket is positioned to screen debris flowing into the vault, and a cleanout-position in which the interior of the vault is accessible so that the vault may be cleaned. When the vault needs to be cleaned, the manhole cover is removed to allow workers to have access to the interior of the vault. The workers may clean out the basket, and then slide it out of the way so that they have access to the vault interior.
