Apparatus for providing supplemental advanced filtration
The present invention teaches a method and apparatus to quickly and inexpensively implement advanced, bypass grade, fine, or additional filtration to engines and hydraulic systems. The present invention has the ability to make quick hydraulic connection to the engine or hydraulic system, where oil is super cleaned, without major modifications as is the paradigm by traditional bypass filtration systems and without removing any lubricant from the engine or system that the present invention is connected to, as is the paradigm of traditional bypass filtering systems. When connected to the normally provided stud for the spin-on oil filter in an engine or hydraulic system, the net effect of interest to the present invention is that by simply placing the adapter at the point of connection of the spin-on oil filter, many of the necessary plumbing associated with the traditional bypass filter installation is obviated, as is the energy and labor intensive process of seeking for a pressure point and a return of the oil. The present invention relies on the differential pressure effected by either alone or in combination of an orifice restriction to effect flow of either engine oil or hydraulic fluid, to route through a high efficiency filter, in trapping and low pressure to flow, an amount of dirty oil and then to return same amount to reconstitute a total flow on the system, whereby supplemental or advanced filtration is quickly connected to an engine or hydraulic system.
Filter with internal frame openings
At least one embodiment of the invention pertains to a fluid filter having a fine media element and a coarse media element inside a housing. The fine media element has a plurality of apertures through a flange around the periphery of the fine media element.
FILTER APPARATUS
The invention relates to a filter apparatus having a plurality of filter elements (21) which can be accommodated in a filter housing (1) with a filter inlet (11) for fluid to be filtered and a filter outlet (13) for the filtered fluid, wherein during the operation of the device at least one of the filter elements (21) can be backflushed by means of a backflushing device for cleaning its effective surface, which backflushing device includes a pressure control device (7) to support the backflushing, characterized in that the filter elements (21) are each accommodated in an element housing (30), the element housings (30) with the filter elements (21) performing the filtration process are connected to the fluid outlet (13) by their one open end (33) in a fluid conducting manner, and the element housing (30) of the respective backflushable filter element (21) is exclusively connected with its one open end (33) to the pressure control device (7).
No Filter No Run Fluid Filtration System
A filter system including a designated filter cartridge having a geometric projection, a flow restriction valve that controls fluid flow out of a filter system, and a priming pump configured to prime the filter. The flow restriction valve. The flow restriction valve includes at least on fluid flow check valve configured to allow the priming pump to prime the filter system.
Filter Element With Offset Fluid Passage
A filter element has a ring of a first filter medium disposed between upper and lower end caps. A center tube extends between the upper and lower end caps radially inwards of the first filter medium. Holes in the center tube, adjacent the upper end cap, allow fluid to pass through the center tube towards a separator tube. The separator tube contains a second filter medium that strips water from the fluid into a fluid reservoir below the lower end cap. A radially offset duct defining a fluid passage extends from below the lower end cap to above the upper end cap.
Swimming pool skimmer attachment
A pool skimming system for removing debris from a pool water surface comprising a pool water skimmer; a stationary back plate removably connected to the pool water skimmer, the back plate comprising a front, a back, and an aperture; and a vertically mobile, buoyant front module comprising a rear slot disposed vertically, an aperture and a weir, the front module being slideably connected to the front of the back plate by connecting means at the vertical rear slot, wherein the front module moves up and down with the level of water in the pool to maintain a substantially constant position of the weir relative to the pool water surface.
STANDPIPE WITH FLOW RESTRICTION VALVE, AND FILTER CARTRIDGE
A no filter, no run filtration system that is designed to verify that a filter cartridge is present to safe-guard against damage to fuel injectors, associated fuel components, etc. and engine malfunctions. Fuel flow to the engine is prevented altogether or permitted in an amount insufficient to allow engine operation if a filter cartridge is not installed, and an appropriately designed filter cartridge is required to be used in order to permit sufficient fuel flow for engine operation. In one embodiment, a flow restriction valve is provided that includes a ball.
Vented liquid filter vented through media
A filter apparatus and filter element therefore are provided. The filter apparatus includes a filter head including an inlet port, a main flow outlet port and a drain flow outlet port. The filter element includes a ring of filter media defining an internal cavity. The filter element defines a main flow passage and a drain flow passage through the internal cavity. Each flow passage has an inlet on a clean side of the filter media directly fluidly communicating with the internal cavity. The main flow passage is fluidly coupled to the main flow outlet port. The drain flow passage (or air bleed passage) is fluidly coupled to the drain flow outlet port and includes (i) a restriction 154 sized large enough to allow air flow and small enough to prevent substantial liquid flow and (ii) a check valve 912 limiting flow to a single direction. The filter media separates the inlet port from the main flow and drain flow outlet ports.
Aperture plates for pressure-regulating valves
A valve assembly includes a sleeve with an inlet and an outlet. A spool is slideably disposed within an interior of the sleeve and is movable along a spool movement axis defined by the sleeve between first and second positions such a flow area between the inlet and outlet is greater when the spool is in the second position than when the spool is in the first position. An aperture plate seats within the sleeve inlet and is axially adjacent to the spool. The aperture plate defines a core flow and a flow-directing aperture to center and straighten a fluid flow entering the sleeve inlet.
