COMPUTERIZED HVAC FILTER EVALUATION SYSTEM

A heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) control system generates a request to replace a first air filter installed in an air handler of an HVAC system with a second air filter. The second air filter has a particulate matter removal efficiency rating that is greater than a particulate matter removal efficiency rating of the first filter. The system delays for a predetermined period of time and then obtains (i) a first temperature of air downstream of the air handler and (ii) a second temperature of air upstream of the air handler. The system then calculates a temperature difference between the f temperatures and determines whether the temperature difference is within an acceptable range. In response to the temperature difference being within the acceptable range, the system (i) operates the HVAC system using the second air filter and (ii) generates an alert indicating compatibility of the second air filter.

An incubator for cell and tissue culture under controlled atmospheric conditions has a primary air flow control device that forms a primary, preferably laminar flow, air veil across an opening that allows access to the cells or tissue cultures disposed within the incubator. Preferably, most if not all of the air in the primary (laminar flow) air veil is recirculated, and a secondary air flow control device is used that forms a secondary, preferably laminar flow, air veil between the primary (laminar flow) air veil and a user of the incubator.

Modular NBC filtration system for protection shelters

An NBC filtration system whose main components are a filter unit, a blower, a manual air exchange backup unit and a changeover valve. The filter unit is elongated horizontally positioned along a top portion of a wall of the protected space. Inlet and outlet ports of the filter unit are located close to each other near a first extremity of the filter unit. The blower is driven by the electric motor through a second speed increasing transmission enabling rotation of an impeller of the blower. The blower is positioned along the filter unit near a second extremity distal from the inlet and outlet ports; The changeover valve has a tubular housing extending along the filter unit near the first extremity, and an internal displaceable tubular valve member. Each of the components may be replaced with a component of different capacity without effecting the other components.

Techniques for filtration systems are disclosed. In an example, a filtration system interrogates, via a radio-frequency identification (RFID) access device, a RFID tag that is positioned on a filter module that is positioned in the filtration system. In response to interrogating the RFID tag, the filtration accesses, an operational parameter stored on the RFID tag and associated with the filter module. The filtration adjusts an operational setting of the filtration system based on the operational parameter. The filtration system operates the filtration system based on the adjusted operational setting.

Method, engine, and control system for controlling soot loading of exhaust gas aftertreatment components

A method, system, and apparatus relating to operating an internal combustion engine include steps or features for determining a performance threshold of a particulate filter disposed in an exhaust gas flow of the engine having a set time interval between regeneration events of the particulate filter; determining a rate at which the particulate filter is reaching the performance threshold; and controlling an exhaust gas characteristic to control the rate so that the performance threshold is reached at or just before an end of the time interval. In an embodiment, there are steps or features for interpreting a filter condition of the particulate filter; determining a particulate matter load rate of the filter as a function of the condition; determining a limit of an exhaust gas characteristic based on the load rate; and controlling engine operation to control the exhaust gas characteristic to satisfy the limit.

Taking up system and process with a filter unit for the receiving of gas from a medical apparatus

An taking up/receiving system (100) and a process for taking up/receiving of gas from a medical apparatus (1) are provided. The taking up/receiving system includes a feed line (6), a discharge line (8), a filter unit (4) with a filter and at least one buffer storage device. The feed line establishes a fluid connection between the medical apparatus and the filter unit. The discharge line establishes a fluid connection between the filter unit and a fluid taking up/receiving unit (7). The gas is discharged from the medical apparatus and is passed through the feed line to the filter unit and from there through the discharge line to the fluid taking up/receiving unit. The filter filters at least one gas component out of the gas that is passed through the filter unit. The one or more buffer storage device absorbs and again discharges gas from time to time.

AIRFLOW ADJUSTMENT

In some examples, a controller is to receive a measurement from a sensor in an enclosure, and use the measurement and a baseline value to represent a condition of an airflow flowing through a filter that removes particulates from an incoming airflow into the enclosure. Based on the measurement and the baseline value, the controller is to selectively adjust a setting of an airflow generator that causes the incoming airflow through an inlet into the enclosure, or indicate that the filter is to be replaced.

An apparatus and a system is provided that may be utilized to determine air flow through an air filter and/or a plurality of air filters. The present invention utilizes a demonstration apparatus to illustrate the differences in air flow and air restriction between a plurality of different air filters and filtration media. The apparatus and system utilizes a common plenum which subjects the plurality of air filters to the same differential pressure. The air flows through a first side of the air filter and is measured on the second side of the air filter by utilizing a wind meter or similar device to gauge the amount of air flow velocity of the second side of the filter. Additionally, the apparatus and system utilizes a display means to illustrate the differing air velocity through the second side of the air filter.
