System and methods for carbon dioxide capture and recovery
Disclosed are methods and systems for capturing carbon dioxide (CO.sub.2) from an input gas stream (e.g., flue gas from a combustion process). In particular, the system includes a CO.sub.2 absorption module that directs supersaturated CO.sub.2 process water to a CO.sub.2 recovery process. The CO.sub.2 recovery process includes a sparging seal vessel, followed by an agitator, followed by a stripper unit, followed by an outgassing tank, and lastly a membrane separator, configured to outgas CO.sub.2 from the supersaturated process water and direct the gaseous CO.sub.2 into a CO.sub.2 collection header.

Materials and systems for capturing CO.sub.2 and converting the captured CO.sub.2 into useful byproducts are also provided.
METHOD FOR FIXING CARBON DIOXIDE, METHOD FOR PRODUCING FIXED CARBON DIOXIDE, AND CARBON DIOXIDE FIXATION APPARATUS
The present invention provides a new method for fixing carbon dioxide. The method for fixing carbon dioxide of the present invention, includes: a contact step of bringing a mixed liquid containing sodium hydroxide and further containing at least one of a chloride of a Group 2 element or a chloride of a divalent metal element into contact with a gas containing carbon dioxide, wherein in the contact step, the mixed liquid and the gas are brought into contact with each other by feeding the gas into the mixed liquid, a concentration of the sodium hydroxide in the mixed liquid is 0.01 N or more and 0.2 N or less, and in the contact step, the feeding is performed by a motor-driven pump, and the motor is driven by utilizing power generated by photovoltaic power generation.
BOILER PLANT AND CARBON DIOXIDE REMOVAL METHOD
Provided is a boiler plant including a carbon dioxide capture system. The carbon dioxide capture system has an absorbing-liquid regeneration device and an absorber. The absorbing-liquid regeneration device includes a regenerator, a first circulation line in which the absorbing liquid is taken out from the regenerator and is returned to the regenerator, and a second circulation line in which the absorbing liquid is taken out from the regenerator and is returned to the regenerator, a heat exchanger, a heater, and a switcher. The heat exchanger heats the absorbing liquid by exchanging heat between the absorbing liquid flowing through the first circulation line and steam from the boiler. The heater heats the absorbing liquid flowing in the second circulation line. The switcher switches between a first heating state in which the absorbing liquid flows in the first circulation line and a second heating state in which the absorbing liquid flows in the second circulation line.
NON-AQUEOUS SOLVENT CO2 CAPTURE IN ROTATING PACKED BED
The disclosure provides an apparatus, as well as associated systems and methods for removing acid gas components from gas streams. The disclosure provides a rotating packed bed (RPB)-based absorber with a non-aqueous liquid solvent contained therein for treatment of the gas streams, wherein the non-aqueous liquid solvent captures acid components from the gas stream. Various advantages, e.g., with respect to spatial considerations and associated expenses can be realized using the apparatus, systems, and methods described herein.
Distributor tray with compartments and gas risers of the same shape for an offshore gas/liquid contact column
A distributor tray (100) for a column for contact between a gas (G) and a liquid (L) is provided wherein the distributor tray has a plurality of compartments defined on one face of the tray by secant partitions (104) which are perforated (105) to allow the flow of liquid between adjacent compartments. Each compartment includes at least one passage of the liquid through the tray or a chimney (102) projecting from the tray for the exclusive passage of the gas (G) through the tray. The shape of the chimney is identical to the shape of the compartment containing it, and the chimney has an internal volume at least equal to the volume of the compartment containing it.
METHOD FOR CAPTURING CO2
The present invention addresses to a method that uses surface-active surfactants ionic liquids (ILs) with an affinity for water to capture CO.sub.2, especially ILs derived from surfactants, of low production cost, fluoride-free, causing a low environmental impact in its use and high yield of CO.sub.2 sorption. The CO.sub.2 sorption method consists of contacting a gas mixture with at least one of the described ILs, at the working temperature, pressure and partial pressure of CO.sub.2. The removal of CO.sub.2 is done by pressure reduction. ILs can be reused without loss of efficiency.
MASS TRANSFER COLUMNS AND METHODS OF CONSTRUCTION
A mass transfer column is provided in which a shell is formed of one or more side walls having an exoskeleton. The exoskeleton includes a plurality of vertical trusses joined together by crossing rails. An inner skin is supported by the vertical trusses and rails and, together with a top and bottom of the shell, defines an open internal region that may be pressurized and in which mass transfer process may occur. Horizontally extending beams that may be in the form of trusses span the open internal reaion and are supported by the exoskeleton. Internals such as structured packing may be supported on the horizontally extending beams.
Process for producing biomethane from a biogas stream, comprising solidification of the impurities
Process for producing biomethane from a biogas stream including methane, carbon dioxide and at least one impurity chosen from ammonia, volatile organic compounds, water, sulfur-based impurities (H.sub.2S) and siloxanes. A biogas stream is dried, the at least one impurity is at least partially removed by solidification and removal of the impurity. The methane and the carbon dioxide contained in the biogas obtained from the second step are separated so as to produce a biomethane stream and a CO.sub.2 stream.
