SHEET-SHAPED HOLLOW FIBER MEMBRANE MODULE AND MEMBRANE SEPARATION UNIT
A sheet-shaped hollow fiber membrane module includes a casing having a flat shape, the casing including a supply port and a discharge port, and a plurality of hollow fiber membranes accommodated inside the casing. The casing includes a plurality of the supply ports on one main surface of the casing and a plurality of the discharge ports on the other main surface of the casing, at least one of the plurality of the supply ports is closable, and at least one of the plurality of the discharge ports is closable. Each of the plurality of hollow fiber membranes includes a first opening at one end of the hollow fiber membrane and a second opening at the other end of the hollow fiber membrane, and the first opening and the second opening communicate with an outside of the casing and do not communicate with an inside of the casing.
COMPACT MEMBRANE MODULE SYSTEM FOR GAS SEPARATION
A device for separating a gas, such as air, into components, includes a plurality of modules, each module having one or more polymeric membranes capable of gas separation. A set of valves, pipes, and manifolds together arrange the modules in one of two possible configurations. In a first configuration, the modules are arranged in parallel. In a second configuration, the modules are divided into two groups which are arranged in series. The device can be switched from parallel to series, or from series to parallel, simply by changing the positions of a small number of valves, typically three valves. The device can therefore produce gas either of higher purity, or moderate purity, depending on the settings of the valves.
Extendable pressurized-type hollow fiber membrane module and filtration apparatus manufactured using the same
Disclosed are an extendable pressurized-type hollow fiber membrane module which facilitates improvement of filtrate quality through a multistep-filtration, enhanced easiness of installation and maintenance, decrease of footprint, and/or enlargement of filtration apparatus (without causing decrease of permeate flux of a unit hollow fiber membrane), and a filtration apparatus manufactured using the same. The filtration apparatus of the present invention comprises first and second pressurized-type hollow fiber membrane modules, wherein an inlet port of the first pressurized-type hollow fiber membrane module for introducing feed water and an outlet port of the second pressurized-type hollow fiber membrane module for discharging filtrate or air are coupled to each other.
Liver support system
An artificial, extracorporeal system for liver replacement and/or assistance, comprises a liver dialysis device for conducting hemodialysis on a patient suffering from liver failure. The liver dialysis device comprises a first standard hollow fiber membrane dialyzer which does not allow passage of an essential amount of albumin over the membrane wall and which is perfused with the patient's blood, and a second hollow fiber membrane dialyzer which allows the passage of essential but defined amounts of albumin over the membrane wall and which receives the blood of the first standard hemodialyzer. The filtrate space is closed off from the lumen space of the hollow fibers and is populated by adsorbent material which may comprise one or more different adsorbents.
FILTER SKID WITH TILTING MECHANISM
A filtration system (1) has a filtration unit (2) with at least one filter element (4) for filtration of a fluid. The at least one filter element (4) has a main flow direction (C) for the fluid. The filtration unit (2) is configured to tilt the at least one filter element (4) around a tilting axis (B) to change an orientation of the main flow direction (C). A main unit (3) is fluidly connectable to the filtration unit (2) and includes a supply unit (18) configured to supply the fluid to the at least one filter element (4). A control unit is configured to control supplying and/or evacuating the fluid to/from the at least one filter element (4) and to control tilting of the at least one filter element (4) around the tilting axis (B).
EXTERNAL-PRESSURE TYPE HOLLOW FIBER MEMBRANE MODULE
An external-pressure type hollow fiber membrane module in which fouling is not likely to occur in a hollow fiber membrane at the time of filtering operation, and which exhibits excellent washability of the hollow fiber membrane is provided. The first end side and the second end side of a plurality of hollow fiber membrane bundles 60 are fixed with adhesive, together with an inner wall surface of the tubular housing 10 or an inner wall surface of the cap. The adhesive-fixed part of the first end side includes a plurality of raw water introduction holes 65 which are formed therethrough in a thickness direction. An external-pressure type hollow fiber membrane module in which the plurality of raw water introduction holes 65 include first group raw water introduction holes 66 formed at positions including central parts of the plurality of hollow fiber membrane bundles 60, respectively, and second group raw water introduction holes 67 formed between the plurality of hollow fiber membrane bundles 60 and between the plurality of hollow fiber membrane bundles 60 and the inner wall surface of the tubular housing 10.
Device and method for positioning a detonator within a perforating gun assembly
According to an aspect, a detonator positioning device is provided for use with a wireless detonator in a perforating gun assembly. The detonator positioning device includes a single mechanism for physical electrical connection, while the remaining electrical connections are made via electrically contactable components. A method of assembling the perforating gun assembly is also provided, including a detonator positioning device configured to receive and hold the wireless detonator.
FLUID TREATMENT ASSEMBLY AND METHOD OF USE
Fluid treatment assemblies comprising a plurality of adjustable tensioning rod assemblies comprising tensioning rods having a tensioning nut and a locking nut threadably attached to the tensioning rods, and methods of adjusting the tension on the assemblies, are provided.
DEVICE AND METHOD FOR POSITIONING A DETONATOR WITHIN A PERFORATING GUN ASSEMBLY
A detonator positioning device for use with a wireless detonator in a perforating gun assembly includes a single mechanism for physical electrical connection, while the remaining electrical connections are made via electrically contactable components.
