METHOD OF POST-TREATING ZEOLITE MEMBRANES BY USING DYE MOLECULES

The present invention relates to a method of post-treating a zeolite membrane, comprising treating a defective zeolite membrane with a chemical material such as a dye molecule, which has a size larger than that of the pores of the zeolite membranes and smaller than defects in the membrane, thereby healing the defects in the membrane. The post-treatment method performs post-treatment of the zeolite membrane under mild conditions (room temperature and normal pressure), thereby selectively healing the defects in the zeolite membrane and improving the performance of the zeolite membrane. In addition, the method may provide a high-performance membrane having a high separation factor, particularly under dry conditions.

Method and device for repairing a membrane filtration module

A method for repairing a membrane filtration module in fluid communication with a plurality of additional membrane filtration modules includes fluidly connecting a fluid transfer assembly to the membrane filtration module, fluidly isolating the membrane filtration module from the plurality of additional membrane filtration modules, forcing liquid within the membrane filtration module into the fluid transfer assembly by introducing a pressurized gas into the membrane filtration module, releasing the pressurized gas from the membrane filtration module, fluidly disconnecting the fluid transfer assembly from the membrane filtration module, repairing one or more damaged membranes in the membrane filtration module, and fluidly reconnecting the membrane filtration module to the plurality of additional membrane filtration modules.

The invention relates to repairing and/or modifying a surface of a membrane in osmotically driven membrane systems by the introduction of one or more substances to the membrane.

SELECTIVE INTERFACIAL MITIGATION OF GRAPHENE DEFECTS

A method for the repair of defects in a graphene or other two-dimensional material through interfacial polymerization.

METHOD FOR MANUFACTURING SELF-HEALING HYDROGEL-FILLED SEPARATION MEMBRANE FOR WATER TREATMENT

A method for manufacturing a self-healing hydrogel-filled separation membrane for water treatment includes soaking a porous support comprising pores in a monomer solution to fill the pores with the solution, removing the excessively filled monomer solution from the porous support, and forming a hydrogel in the pores by crosslinking the monomer. The separation membrane does not require an additional repair process when damage occurs to the separation membrane and can exhibit superior self-healing effect and physical stability.

Defect detection method for monolithic separation membrane structures, repair method, and monolithic separation membrane structures

Each cell is pressurized with gas from outside of the cell, the amount of permeation of the gas permeated into each cell is measured, and a cell having the amount of permeation greater than (average value of all cells+A) (wherein A is a predetermined value of ? to 6?, where ? is the standard deviation) is considered to be defective. Alternatively, pressure is reduced for each cell, the degree of vacuum in each cell is measured, and a cell having the degree of vacuum worse than (average value of all cells+A) is considered to be defective. Then, a polymer compound is poured into the defective cells of the monolithic separation membrane structure and cured so that the defective cells are sealed. Alternatively, the polymer compound formed in advance as the sealing member is inserted into the defective cells to seal the defective cells.

A desalination performance restoration agent for a cellulose acetate membrane contains: a solvent; and a modified polyvinyl alcohol mixed in the solvent. The modified polyvinyl alcohol has an acetyl group structure in at least part of polyvinyl alcohol.

PERMEATION MEMBRANE AND METHOD FOR PRODUCING A PERMEATION MEMBRANE

Disclosed is a permeation membrane and a method for producing a permeation membrane. The permeation membrane can be used in particular in the field of membrane-based material separations. The permeation membrane is composed of an inorganic semi-permeable substance in which an additional substance is incorporated in some locations such that existing intermediate spaces in the semi-permeable substance are at least partly filled by the additional substance and thus only the intermediate spaces are blocked for a permeating species.
