GRAPHENE MEMBRANE AND METHOD FOR MAKING GRAPHENE MEMBRANE
A method for making a membrane includes buffing a first set of graphene platelets onto a surface of a porous substrate to force the graphene platelets into the pores of the substrate, to yield a primed substrate. The method further includes applying a fluid to the primed substrate. The method further includes forcing the fluid through the primed substrate while retaining at least a first portion of the graphene platelets of the first set on the substrate within the pores, to yield a graphene membrane comprising the substrate and a graphene layer platelets lodged within the pores of the substrate.
MEMBRANE
A filtration membrane, suitably for water filtration, in which the membrane includes a porous substrate layer and an active layer arranged over at least a part of the substrate layer. The active layer has a lamellar structure comprising at least two layers of two-dimensional material. The two-dimensional material comprises transition metal dichalcogenide. There is also provided methods for making the filtration membranes and compositions for use in those methods.
Laminate membranes comprising a two-dimensional layer comprising polyaromatic functionalities
This invention relates to membranes of two dimensional material and their uses in filtration. The membranes may include polyaromatic molecules which provide a improvement in the rejection observed for small solutes. The two dimensional material may be a transition metal dichalcogenide (TMDC) or hexagonal boron nitride (hBN).
MXene based compositing nanofiltration membrane and corresponding preparation method
The present invention belongs to the membrane separation area, which provides an MXene material based composite nanofiltration membrane and corresponding method. The mentioned membrane is flat membrane, which has supporting layer and functional separation layer and supporting layer is under the functional separation layer. The functional separation layer is a kind of dense ultra-thin layer, no more than 50 m, prepared with MXene and crosslinking agent. This invention is about a flat composite nanofiltration membrane which has excellent separation performance, thermal resistance and chemical stability because of the novel MXene in the functional separation layer. It can be used in the treatment of the waste water with heavy metal ions, organic solvents or other highly oxidizing solution.

METHOD OF PREPARATION OF CONDUCTIVE POLYMER/CARBON NANOTUBE COMPOSITE NANOFILTRATION MEMBRANE AND THE USE THEREOF
A method for preparation of conductive polymer/carbon nanotube (CNT) composite nanofiltration (NF) membrane and the use thereof. This conductive polymer/CNT composite NF membrane is obtained by polymerizing conductive polymer into a CNT membrane and then in-situ cross-linking with glutaraldehyde under acidic condition. The synthetic method for the conductive polymer/CNT composite NF membrane is simple and has no need of expensive equipment. The prepared membrane has controllable membrane structure and possesses superior electrical conductivity and electrochemical stability. The membrane can couple with electrochemistry for electrically assisted filtration. With the electrical assistance, the membrane can achieve improved ion rejection performance while retaining high permeability by enhancement of membrane surface charge density, which alleviates the permeability-selectivity trade-off. Furthermore, the electrically assisted NF membrane filtration can also enhance the removal for small molecular organic pollutants.
Graphene or Graphene Derivative Membrane
A filtration membrane, suitably for water filtration, comprising a porous substrate layer and an active layer arranged over at least a part of the substrate layer. The active layer has a lamellar structure comprising at least two layers of two-dimensional material. The two-dimensional material comprises graphene or a derivative thereof. There is also provided a method for producing filtration membranes and filtration devices containing the filtration membranes.
