POROUS CERAMIC LAMINATE AND METHOD FOR PRODUCING SAME
A porous ceramic laminate, which can reduce pressure loss of a fluid, includes a first porous layer and a second porous layer. The second porous layer is laminated on, in contact with or via air, the first porous layer. A part of the second porous layer is laminated on, in contact with, the first porous layer. Each of the first porous layer and the second porous layer contains a metal oxide. A ratio Da/Db of an average pore diameter Da of the first porous layer relative to an average pore diameter Db of the second porous layer is 10 or more. A proportion of a portion in which a distance between the first porous layer and the second porous layer is smaller than 1 μm is 70% or less.
Air Filtration Systems and Methods of Forming an Air Filtration System
Embodiments relate to systems and methods for forming an air filtration system. The system includes an air filter. The air filter includes a plurality of filtration surfaces, including a first outer filtration surface, a second outer filtration surface opposite to the first outer filtration surface, and one or more inner filtration surfaces provided between the first and second outer filtration surfaces. The plurality of filtration surfaces may be configured to trap one or more airborne particulates, including viruses and/or bacteria. The air filtration assembly further includes a disinfectant coating. The disinfectant coating is formed on at least a portion of the plurality of filtration surfaces. The disinfectant coating may be for use in disinfecting trapped airborne particulates. The disinfectant coating includes a performance layer. The performance layer includes metal ions. The disinfectant coating further includes an enhancement layer. The enhancement layer includes carbonates.
ACID RESISTANT FILTER MEDIA
Provided are certain membranes useful in the filtration of liquids and removal of various contaminants therein. In certain aspects the membranes have as one component a polyamide such as Nylon 11 and/or Nylon 12. Also provided is methodology for manufacturing such membranes and their use in filtration and purification of liquids. Membranes of the disclosure thus prepared exhibit superior acid stability when compared to polyamide membranes prepared from Nylon 6 or Nylon 6,6.
Method for separating PHA and PHA prepared therefrom
Provided a method for separating PHA and PHA prepared therefrom. The method comprises the following steps: subjecting a PHA fermentation broth to solid-liquid separation to obtain a thallus precipitate; breaking cell walls of the thallus precipitate, and subjecting obtained wall-broken products to a plate and frame filtration to obtain PHA; a filter cloth for the plate and frame filtration is pre-coated with a PHA layer. The method adopts a plate and frame separation to replace the traditional centrifugal separation to prepare PHA, and the PHA layer is pre-coated on the filter cloth for the plate and frame filtration, thereby overcome the defects in the prior art such as high cost and operational difficulty caused by adopting multiple centrifugal separations; in addition, the method of the present disclosure also exhibits the advantages of high recovery rate of PHA and high purity of the prepared PHA product.
CATALYST-ADSORBENT FILTER FOR AIR PURIFICATION
Disclosed in certain embodiments are catalyst-adsorbent compositions that include a metal oxide catalyst adapted for converting gaseous pollutants into chemically-benign species, and an adsorbent adapted for adsorbing the chemically-benign species together with other gaseous species and volatile organic compounds.
TETRAFLUOROETHYLENE POLYMER, AIR FILTER MEDIUM, FILTER PACK, AND AIR FILTER UNIT
A tetrafluoroethylene polymer is provided in an air filter medium having a pressure loss that can be reduced and made uniform at a plurality of positions. The tetrafluoroethylene polymer may also be provided in an air filter medium, a filter pack, or an air filter unit. The tetrafluoroethylene polymer has drawability and non-melt processability. The tetrafluoroethylene polymer has a ratio S.sub.2/S.sub.1 of 0.60 or more, where S.sub.2 represents an endotherm mJ/mg in a range of T.sub.0° C. or higher and 350° C. or lower, T.sub.0° C. is a temperature 2.5° C. lower than a temperature T.sub.p° C. (340≤T.sub.p≤345) at which a minimum point is given on a heat-of-fusion curve obtained by measuring an unbaked polymer for measurement having no history of heating to a temperature of 300° C. or higher using a differential scanning calorimeter at a temperature-increasing rate of 2° C./min, and S.sub.1 represents an endotherm mJ/mg in a range of 320° C. or higher and T.sub.0° C. or lower.
