Carbon dioxide absorbent based on amine having nitrile functional group, and carbon dioxide absorption method and separation method using same
The present invention relates to a method for using, as a carbon dioxide absorbent, a secondary amine having a nitrile group, that is, a 3-(alkylamino)propionitrile compound. The absorbent based on the 3-(alkylamino)propionitrile compound and the carbon dioxide absorption method and separation method using same, according to the present invention, not only have an excellent carbon dioxide absorption capacity and a rapid carbon dioxide absorption rate, but also allow absorbent regeneration even at a considerably low temperature compared with a conventional alkanolamine-based absorbent and thus can significantly reduce the entire energy consumption required for an absorption process, and can also prevent recovered carbon dioxide from being contaminated with moisture and absorbent vapor, owing to the low regeneration temperature.
METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR PRODUCING DICYANOBENZENE
The object is to prevent deterioration and loss of dicyanobenzene in producing dicyanobenzene by ammoxidation of xylene to thereby achieve industrial and economical advantage in producing of dicyanobenzene. The method for producing dicyanobenzene of the present invention includes: contacting a xylene-ammoxidation reaction gas containing dicyanobenzene in ammoxidation of xylene with an organic solvent so as to obtain a dicyanobenzene-absorbing solution; contacting the dicyanobenzene-absorbing solution with a basic aqueous solution containing a salt such as ammonium carbonate so as to extract a water-soluble salt formed by neutralization reaction between carboxylic acid in the dicyanobenzene-absorbing solution and a base in the basic aqueous solution into an aqueous phase; separating the mixture of the dicyanobenzene-absorbing solution and the basic aqueous solution into an organic phase and an aqueous phase; decomposing the salt such as ammonium carbonate contained in the organic phase for separation of the salt from the organic phase; and distilling the organic phase to separate low boiling point compounds contained in the organic phase from the organic phase so as to obtain dicyanobenzene.
Ammonia-urea integrated process and plant
A process for the production of ammonia and urea in an ammonia-urea integrated plant comprising an ammonia section and a tied-in urea section, wherein a hydrocarbon is reformed to produce ammonia make-up synthesis gas; said make-up gas is purified by shift conversion and removal of carbon dioxide; carbon dioxide is removed from the make-up gas by a first and a second CO2 removal sections; the first section removes CO2 by absorption with a suitable medium, and the second section removes CO2 by washing with a carbamate solution taken from the urea section; the make-up gas is reacted to produce ammonia; the CO2 removed from the make-up gas and at least part of the ammonia are used to produce urea.
System and method for treatment of a flue gas
A method for treatment of a flue gas involves feeding the flue gas and a lean solvent to an absorber. The method further involves reacting the flue gas with the lean solvent within the absorber to generate a clean flue gas and a rich solvent. The method also involves feeding the clean flue gas from the absorber and water from a source, to a wash tower to separate a stripped portion of the lean solvent from the clean flue gas to generate a washed clean flue gas and a mixture of the water and the stripped portion of the lean solvent. The method further involves treating at least a portion of the mixture of the water and the stripped portion of the lean solvent via a separation system to separate the water from the stripped portion of the lean solvent.
SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR PROCESSING GASES
The invention includes a gas processing system for transforming a hydrocarbon-containing inflow gas into outflow gas products, where the system includes a gas delivery subsystem, a plasma reaction chamber, and a microwave subsystem, with the gas delivery subsystem in fluid communication with the plasma reaction chamber, so that the gas delivery subsystem directs the hydrocarbon-containing inflow gas into the plasma reaction chamber, and the microwave subsystem directs microwave energy into the plasma reaction chamber to energize the hydrocarbon-containing inflow gas, thereby forming a plasma in the plasma reaction chamber, which plasma effects the transformation of a hydrocarbon in the hydrocarbon-containing inflow gas into the outflow gas products, which comprise acetylene and hydrogen. The invention also includes methods for the use of the gas processing system.
CYCLOPROPENEIMINES FOR CAPTURE AND TRANSFER OF CARBON DIOXIDE
A composition, process, and apparatus are disclosed. The composition includes a cyclopropeneimine-carbon dioxide (CPI-CO.sub.2) adduct. The process includes forming the CPI-CO.sub.2 adduct by reacting a CPI with CO.sub.2 gas. The apparatus includes components for providing the CPI and mixing the CPI with CO.sub.2 gas. The mixing results in formation of the CPI-CO.sub.2 adduct.
