EFFICIENT USE OF ADSORBENTS FOR INDOOR AIR SCRUBBING
Some embodiments of the disclosure correspond to, for example, a method for controlling a scrubber containing an adsorbent. The scrubber may be configured to cycle between scrubbing at least one pollutant/gas from a stream of gases with the pollutant/gas being adsorbed onto the adsorbent, and regenerating at least some of the adsorbent and thereby purging at least some of the one pollutant and/or first gas from the adsorbent via a regeneration gas flow. The method may include flowing a stream of gases through the scrubber, the scrubber including the adsorbent and adsorbing at least some of the one pollutant/gas from the stream of gases onto the adsorbent during an adsorption phase over a first time period. The method may also include purging at least a portion of the one pollutant/gas from the adsorbent during a regeneration phase over a second time period with a regeneration gas flow, and cycling therebetween.
MULTILAYER FILM FOR AIR PURIFICATION AND METHOD FOR MANUFACTURING SAME
The present invention relates to a multilayer film for air purification and a method for manufacturing the same and, more particularly, to a multilayer film for air purification having a thin and uniform shape, thereby exhibiting a high degree of utility as a mask and an air purification filter, as well as having an excellent air purification function, and a method for manufacturing the same. The objective of the present invention is to provide a multilayer film for air purification and a method for manufacturing the multilayer film for air purification, which comprises yellow ocher-activated carbon composite particles capable of removing fine dust, bacteria, odor, VOC, etc. present in the air.
Sorbents for coal combustion
Sorbent compositions containing calcium and iodine are added to coal to mitigate the release of mercury and/or other harmful elements into the environment during combustion of coal containing natural levels of mercury.
Sorbents for coal combustion
Sorbent compositions containing halogen and either nitrates or nitrites are added to coal to mitigate the release of mercury and/or other harmful elements into the environment during combustion of coal containing natural levels of mercury.
MULTICOMPONENT COMPOSITIONS FOR MERCURY REMOVAL
Herein are disclosed compositions of matter, processes of manufacture and processes of use of solid state admixtures that include an inorganic base and a sulfide selected from the group consisting of an ammonium sulfide, an alkali metal sulfide, an alkali-earth metal sulfide, transition metal sulfide, and a mixture thereof. The composition can include solid state inorganic bases (e.g., calcium hydroxide and sodium sesquicarbonate) and/or gaseous bases (e.g., ammonia) and, optionally, a support material for one or more of the inorganic base and sulfide. The compositions are useful for capturing environmental contaminants, for example, from the flue gas of a coal fired power plant.
Mouldable desiccant composition
A reaction product of a mixture of components suitable for molding into shaped desiccant particles, wherein the mixture includes: a. a porous siliceous material, b. hygroscopic salt, c. polyvinyl alcohol (PVA) with a degree of hydrolysis between 82 and 95 mol % and a viscosity between 12 and 40 mPa.Math.s, as determined on an aqueous solution of 4% PVA at 20 C. according to DIN53015, d. water, e. optionally, an OH-containing polymer, different from PVA,
wherein the weight ratio between hygroscopic salt and the porous siliceous material is chosen between 0.1:1 and 0.9:1 and
wherein the weight ratio between hygroscopic salt and PVA is chosen between 1:1 and 5:1.
Active element, method for manufacturing the same and container with active element
An active element for trapping and/or releasing a gaseous or liquid substance is provided including a solid body, which is enveloped by an outer boundary surface (S), and contains an active material adapted to trap and/or release a gaseous or liquid substance, wherein the outer boundary surface S has an overall roundish, preferably round shape. The active element is manufactured by injection moulding and can be utilized within a container.
SORBENT DEVICES
Sorbent material sheets provide for enhanced performance in vapor adsorbing applications over conventional canisters and other emissions control equipment. The sorbent material sheets can be formed as part of a small, lightweight canister, or can be integrated into a fuel tank. The sorbent material sheets can also be used as part of an onboard refueling vapor recovery system to control volatile organic compound emissions from fuel tanks of gasoline vehicles, such as automobiles.
MOISTURE WICKING FOOD CONTAINER
A food container for wicking moisture from a food product stored in the container including a food receptacle having an interior volume and an opening for permitting a food product to be placed in and removed from the receptacle, a lid adapted for being positioned onto and sealing the opening, a desiccant reservoir positioned on an underside of the lid for being exposed to the interior volume of the receptacle and adapted for containing a desiccant material, and a plurality of apertures in the reservoir for allowing air flow communication between the interior of the receptacle and the reservoir whereby moisture given off by the food product contained in the receptacle is absorbed by the desiccant material to aid in maintaining freshness of the food.
SORBENT COMPOSITION FOR AN ELECTROSTATIC PRECIPITATOR
A powdery calcium-magnesium compound used as a sorbent composition in flue gas treatment, compatible with electrostatic precipitators. The calcium magnesium compound is doped with calcium nitrate or nitric acid to reduce the electrical resistivity of the particles, increasing their collection efficiency.
