Fluid Management and Measurement Systems, Devices, and Methods
A medicament preparation system includes a disposable cartridge with a flow path. Various sensors may be placed on the cartridge to measure qualities of the fluid flowing through the flow path. The sensors are placed in precise locations using various approaches that make manufacturing of the cartridge efficient and repeatable. A drain line that is susceptible to fouling may be preattached and various approaches are used to remove or reduce the fouling. An elastomeric contact can also be present in the medical preparation system and used in a conductivity measurement subsystem.
Blending control method with determination of untreated water hardness via the conductivity of the soft water and blended water
A method for operating a water softening plant includes an automatic blending device, an incoming flow of untreated water being divided into a first partial flow which is softened and a second partial flow which is not softened and then combined into a flow of blended water. The proportions of the two partial flows are adjusted by the automatic blending device such that a desired hardness DV results in the flow of blended water. The conductivity of the softened water and blended water are measured by conductivity sensors in their respective flows. The conductivity of the untreated water is calculated from the measured conductivity of the soft water, from the measured conductivity of the blended water and from the determined proportions of the partial flows. It is possible for the hardness of the blended water to be adjusted very reliably and with improved accuracy.
METHOD FOR PROVIDING DEIONIZED WATER WITH DYNAMIC ELECTRICAL RESISTIVITY
A method includes mixing a first deionized water (DI) water from a first pipe and a second DI water from a second pipe in a merging pipe that is in fluid communication with the first pipe and the second pipe. An electrical resistivity of the first DI water is different from an electrical resistivity of the second DI water. A mixture of the first DI water and the second DI water is applied from the merging pipe onto a wafer.
SINGLE USE SLURRYING AND CHROMATOGRAPHY SYSTEMS
Methods and systems for chromatography are disclosed that employ a flexible container configured to fit within a support structure and adapted to receive a filtration or absorptive medium. The flexible container can include at least one inlet, at least one outlet, and a separation barrier peripherally sealed within the container to separate the container into a resin containing portion and a drainage portion. The barrier can be configured to exclude the resin material from the drainage portion while allowing fluids to pass therethrough. The disposable chromatography system can further include one or more agitators disposed within the flexible container and adjustably configured to be raised or lowered in the flexible container. When the agitator is in the raised position, the resin packing material can operate in a settled, packed-bed configuration. Alternatively, the agitator in the lowered position permits the chromatography resin packing material to operate in a mixed, slurry configuration.
Production system for producing formulations
The present invention relates to a production system for manufacturing of formulations, comprising a unit (1). The unit (1) includes a subunit (1.1) which includes a combination of a process mixer and a buffer tank, means of feeding defined amounts of feedstocks into the process mixer, a measurement unit for ascertaining properties of a part-batch of a formulation manufactured in the process mixer, an evaluation unit for determining a deviation of properties of the part-batches manufactured in the process mixer from the properties of a predefined target state, and a unit for adjusting the feed of feedstocks in view of the deviations. The present invention also relates to a process for manufacturing formulations.
DILUTED SOLUTION PRODUCTION METHOD AND DILUTED SOLUTION PRODUCTION APPARATUS
A diluted solution production method of the present invention is a diluted solution production method of producing a diluted solution of a second liquid by adding the second liquid a first liquid, the method including feeding the first liquid to a first pipe; and controlling pressure in a tank that stores the second liquid to add, through the second pipe that connects the tank to the first pipe, the second liquid to the first liquid in the first pipe. Adding the second liquid includes measuring a flow rate of the first liquid or the diluted solution that flows through the first pipe; measuring a component concentration of the diluted solution; and controlling the pressure in the tank, based on the measured values of the flow rate and the component concentration, so as to adjust the component concentration of the diluted solution to a specified value.
