A method of treating a vertebra, comprising: (a) accessing an interior of a vertebra; and (b) introducing a sufficient amount of artificial biocompatible material which does not set to a hardened condition in storage, into said bone, with sufficient force to move apart fractured portions of said bone.

A powdered drink shaker bottle is provided with a rigid, disposable liner to minimize clean up and eliminate residual odors. The liner is shaped to fit inside the cup of the bottle, and includes a plurality of projections to facilitate mixing of a powdered drink in the bottle. The projections eliminate the need for a separate, removable mixing device, such as a ball or grate. An optional cap liner may also be provided.

A mixing apparatus is for selective mixing of contents. The mixing apparatus has a body that defines an interior space. The body further has an aperture for permitting access to the interior space. In an autoclave in a high pressure acid leaching process in which starting material slurry and sulfuric acid are stirred by stirring machines in each compartment in the autoclave partitioned by partition walls to proceed leaching, and slurry is transferred from a compartment on an upstream side to a compartment on a downstream side to sequentially proceed leaching, wherein starting material slurry supply tubes having the starting material slurry discharge ports and sulfuric acid supply tubes having sulfuric acid discharge ports are alternately disposed on a perimeter of stirring blades of the stirring machine provided in the compartment at an upstream end, and the starting material slurry and sulfuric acid are added to the compartment at the upstream end from the starting material slurry discharge ports and the sulfuric acid discharge ports positioned higher than an uppermost part of the stirring blades and lower than a contained liquid surface.

A reaction cassette and a biochemical assay device are disclosed. The reaction cassette for biochemical assay comprises a housing with structural walls defining a liquid mixing space for accommodating at least one mixing zone, wherein the at least one mixing zones comprises at least one blending structures for generating a vortex phenomenon in liquid, thereby improving the degree of mixture of a liquid sample and a dried reagent.

A biological production system includes a mixing vessel and an agitation device. The mixing vessel includes an outer housing, an internal mixing structure, and a reaction chamber. The mixing vessel is configured to provide low shear agitation to materials in the reaction chamber in response to force from the agitation device.

A mixing device includes a main body, a plurality of first material inlet portions and a second material inlet portion. The main body includes a blending chamber and a discharging portion which is in fluid communication with the blending chamber. The first material inlet portions are connected to the main body. An exemplary container described herein comprises a first layer comprising two first internal bars, said two internal bars parallel or substantially parallel to one another, a second layer comprising two second internal bars, said two second internal bars parallel or substantially parallel to one another and perpendicular or substantially perpendicular to said two first internal bars, whereby said first layer is positioned above said second layer within said container.

A portable fluid mixing vessel for containing fluid. The vessel interior includes a mixing component designed for effecting mixing of a fluid with a powdered substance. The spring loaded component is releaseably attached to the bottom of the vessel interior, and is configured to gently break apart clumps of the powder allowing the powder to go into solution without over-mixing. A turbine is attached to the spring portion, the turbine having angled blades to induce a gentle stirring motion in response to vertical reciprocation of the turbine. The gentle breakdown of the powder creates a mixture which has a texture like that of a stirred mixture, as opposed to a pureed or blended mixture.
