FORMATION OF PARTICLES INCLUDING AGENTS
The invention provides methods for the preparation of particles including one or more agents, e.g., therapeutic or diagnostic agents. The particles can be formed by creating droplets of a first liquid, e.g., including an agent, and removing the first liquid, e.g., through its dispersal in a second liquid and/or evaporation, to solidify the droplets. Advantageously, the process of forming the particles does not significantly alter the structure or activity of the agents and may enhance the stability of the agents. For example, the particles may be stored for long periods of time without significant loss of activity, and in some embodiments, without the need for refrigeration. These particles may be used to generate stabilized pharmaceutical compositions for storage or other logistical purposes, pharmaceutical suspensions, pharmaceutical powder formulations (e.g., inhalable powders, injectable powders), creams or other topical pastes, nutraceuticals, or cosmetics.
Personal care compositions and methods
Methods of making personal care compositions including microcapsules and methods of enhancing the efficacy of the microcapsules in said personal care compositions.
METHOD FOR PRODUCING MICROCAPSULES OR BEADS
An object of the invention is to provide a method for producing a capsule or microbead having high encapsulation efficiency of an encapsulated substance, high production efficiency, and high versatility. The invention relates to a method for producing a microcapsule or microbead, comprising: a step of disposing a monomer droplet or polymer droplet containing a substance to be encapsulated, which has a surface coated with a plurality of solid fine particles, on a flat surface; and a step of solidifying the monomer droplet or polymer droplet disposed on the flat surface in a gas phase so as to form an outer shell of a capsule or microbead, thereby forming a region enclosed by the outer shell, wherein the substance is encapsulated in the region.
METHODS AND DEVICES FOR LIPOSOME PREPARATION BY CENTRIFUGATION
Methods and devices for producing a population of liposomes are provided. Aspects of the methods include applying a centrifugal force to a suspension of liposomes in a manner sufficient to pass the liposomes through a porous membrane to produce a population of liposomes. Aspects of the invention further include devices, systems and kits useful for performing the methods.
Methods and Systems for Forming Microcapsules
A method for producing microcapsules is disclosed. The method includes providing a core liquid including one or more oils and one or more surfactants and a shell liquid including water, one or more surfactants and at least one wall forming material. A plurality of liquid droplets are formed in a formation zone and the water is evaporated within a drying zone of a drying chamber.

OXIDIZED CELLULOSE MICROSPHERES
A process for forming microspheres is disclosed. The process includes contacting a solvent with a modified cellulose to form a solution; contacting the modified cellulose solution with at least one bioactive agent to form a discontinuous phase liquid; contacting the discontinuous phase liquid with a continuous phase liquid to form an emulsion; and contacting the emulsion with a third phase liquid to extract the solvent from the emulsion, thereby forming a plurality of modified cellulose microspheres.
