STACKED SORBENT ASSEMBLY
A stacked sorbent assembly for use in sorbent dialysis. The stacked sorbent assembly contains two or more interchangeable sorbent pouches that allow for fluid to freely pass into and through the sorbent materials, while keeping the sorbent materials inside the sorbent pouches. Any of the pouches in the sorbent cartridge can be reused and/or recharged.
Method for producing solidified radioactive waste
The present invention provides solidified radioactive waste into which a titanium-containing adsorbent having a radioactive element adsorbed thereto is vitrified, the solidified radioactive waste being capable of confining a large amount of the titanium-containing adsorbent having a radioactive element adsorbed thereto, and furthermore elution of the radioactive element from the vitrified waste being suppressed. The method of the present application includes a step of heat-melting a mixture that includes a titanium-containing adsorbent having a radioactive element adsorbed thereto, a SiO.sub.2 source, and an M.sub.2O source (M represents an alkali metal element) to form vitrified waste. The titanium-containing adsorbent is preferably one or two or more kind such as silicotitanate, an alkali nonatitanate, and titanium hydroxide.
PARTICULATE MINERAL MATERIALS FUNCTIONALIZED WITH REDUCING AGENTS FOR LOWERING THE AMOUNT OF HEAVY METAL CONTAMINANTS FROM AN AQUEOUS MEDIUM
The present invention relates to the use of a particulate mineral material being functionalized with one or more reducing agents for lowering the amount of heavy metal contaminants ions from an aqueous medium. Furthermore, the present invention relates to a corresponding process for lowering the amount of heavy metal contaminants from an aqueous medium as well as to a functionalized particulate mineral material. Additionally, the present invention relates to a process for preparing a functionalized particulate mineral material and to a scavenging complex.
PELLETS OF SORBENT SUITABLE FOR CARBON DIOXIDE CAPTURE
The present invention relates to methods for the preparation of pellets of sorbent suitable for carbon dioxide capture, to said pellets of sorbent, and to the use of said pellets of sorbent in carbon dioxide capture.
SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR BATCH SORBENT MATERIAL REUSE
Methods, sorbent cartridges and cleaning devices are disclosed for refurbishing sorbent materials. In one implementation among multiple implementations, a medical fluid delivery method includes: providing a sorbent cartridge including H.sup.+ZP within a casing for a treatment; and after the treatment, refurbishing the H.sup.+ZP while maintained within the casing via (i) regenerating the non-disinfected H.sup.+ZP by flowing an acid solution through the casing, (ii) rinsing the regenerated H.sup.+ZP while maintained within the casing, (iii) disinfecting the regenerated and rinsed H.sup.+ZP by flowing a disinfecting agent through the casing, and (iv) rinsing the regenerated and disinfected H.sup.+ZP while maintained within the casing. Multiple batch sorbent refubishing implementations are also disclosed.
