CERAMIC MATERIAL FOR THE ABSORPTION OF CARBON DIOXIDE, PRODUCTION PROCESS, PROCESSES FOR THE REGENERATION OF CARBON DIOXIDE AND OF THE CERAMIC MATERIAL, AND USES
The present invention describes the process of preparing ceramic materials for absorption of acidic gases, mainly carbon dioxide, in exhaust systems and/or present indoors. Ceramic materials are formed by a mixture of alkali carbonate with alkaline earth metal oxide/hydroxide associated with a binding component, but non-limiting. The alkali carbonate comprises sodium, potassium carbonate, or a mixture of both. The alkaline earth metal oxide/hydroxide may be formed from magnesium oxide or magnesium hydroxide as well as calcium oxide and/or calcium hydroxide.
METAL TRAPPING ADDITIVE
The invention includes a metal trapping additive that comprises calcium, boron and magnesia-alumina. The invention also includes a process for the catalytic cracking of feedstock comprising contacting the feedstock under catalytic cracking conditions with a FCC catalyst and the metal trapping additive.
CLUMPING ANIMAL LITTER AND METHOD THEREOF
A clumpable animal litter comprises composite particles of filler materials, such as limestone and sand, and sodium bentonite. The filler materials have a lower bulk density as compared to a granular mixture of the same percentage of filler and sodium bentonite clay and contain up to eighty-five percent less clay.
Mesoporous composite comprising anhydrous, amorphous magnesium carbonate and calcium carbonate, and methods of production thereof
An X-ray amorphous magnesium carbonate is disclosed that is characterized by a cumulative pore volume of pores with a diameter smaller than 10 nm of at least 0.018 cm.sup.3/g, and a specific surface areas of at least 60 m.sup.2/g. The X-ray amorphous magnesium carbonate is produced by reacting an inorganic magnesium compound with alcohol in a CO.sub.2 atmosphere. The X-ray amorphous magnesium carbonate can be a powder or a pellet and acts as a desiccant in, for example, production of food, chemicals or pharmaceuticals.
Hydrated lime with reduced resistivity and method of manufacture
Systems and methods for generation of lime hydrate compounds and particularly highly reactive hydrated lime (HRH) with a reduced resistivity through the inclusion of a sodium compound generally in the slaking water used in generating the lime hydrate or HRH. The compound may then be used in systems which include a Electrostatic Precipitator (ESP) for SO.sub.2 mitigation without many of the associated problems in ESP performance.
PROCESSING POST-INDUSTRIAL AND POST-CONSUME sR WASTE STREAMS AND PREPARATION OF POST-INDUSTRIAL AND POST-CONSUMER PRODUCTS THEREFROM
A system for and method of, processing post-consumer and post-industrial waste streams, producing active ingredients for waste stream processing, processing aqueous waste streams, preparing and collecting a multi-purpose chemical precursor, removing phosphates, nitrates, heavy metals, and other contaminants from aqueous waste streams, collecting and processing a post-consumer and post-industrial product from aqueous waste streams, administering and positioning assets and processes associated with waste stream processing, and scheduling operations for sub-systems of the system.
Sorbents for the oxidation and removal of mercury
Various embodiments disclosed relate to sorbents for the oxidation and removal of mercury. The present invention includes removing mercury from a mercury-containing gas using a halide-promoted and optionally ammonium-protected sorbent that can include carbon sorbent, non-carbon sorbent, or a combination thereof.
PROCESSING POST-INDUSTRIAL AND POST-CONSUMER WASTE STREAMS AND PREPARATION OF POST-INDUSTRIAL AND POST-CONSUMER PRODUCTS THEREFROM
SORBENTS FOR COAL COMBUSTION
Sorbent compositions containing calcium and iodine are added to coal to mitigate the release of mercury and/or other harmful elements into the environment during combustion of coal containing natural levels of mercury.
VOC AND ODOR REDUCING BUILDING PANELS
Described herein are methods of forming a VOC and odor-reducing building panel. The methods include providing a substrate; applying a wet-state coating to a major surface of the substrate, the wet-state coating comprising carrier comprising water; and drying the wet-state coating, thereby evaporating at least 95 wt. % of the carrier to form a dry-state coating.
