Method of producing modified sawdust sorbent
A method for producing modified sawdust sorbent that includes sulfonating sawdust with sulfuric acid and oxidizing the sulfonated sawdust with hydrogen peroxide. The method yields modified sawdust sorbent containing sulfonated and oxidized cellulose. The modified sawdust sorbent has a higher surface area, higher organic dye adsorption capacity, and more rapid organic dye adsorption rate than unmodified sawdust. A method of using the modified sawdust sorbent for organic dye removal from water includes contacting dye contaminated water with the modified sawdust sorbent and forming a dye-impregnated sorbent and decontaminated water.
PROCESS FOR PURIFYING BIS(2-HYDROXYETHYL)TEREPHTHALATE
Process for purifying bis(2-hydroxyethyl)terephthalate (BHET) obtained from depolymerization of a polyethylene terephthalate (PET) waste, the process comprising: treating said solution with at least one oxidizing agent at a temperature of from 30° C. to 100° C., preferably from 50° C. to 90° C., to obtain an oxidized solution; treating the oxidized solution with at least one adsorbing agent to obtain a purified oxidized solution; separating the at least one adsorbing agent from the purified oxidized solution to obtain a purified BHET solution. This process is particularly effective for eliminating organic dyes and other low molecular weight organic contaminants, so as to achieve a high purity degree of the recovered BHET.
Superabsorbent Polymer and Method for Preparing the Same
A superabsorbent polymer that may continuously and safely exhibit improved bacterial growth inhibition property and deodorization property, without deterioration of the properties of superabsorbent polymer such as centrifuge retention capacity and absorption under pressure, and the like, and a method for preparing the same are provided.
MODIFIED ZEOLITE FOR HEAVY METAL REMOVAL
The present invention relates to the use of particulate mineral material comprising modified heulandite group zeolite for removing heavy metal cations from a liquid medium, wherein at least a part of the exchangeable cations in the heulandite group zeolite is replaced by ammonium cations.
SEPARATION COLUMN CONTAINING TITANIUM OXIDE NANOTUBES
A method of removing one or more antibiotics from a dairy product, the method involve passing the dairy product comprising an antibiotic in a first amount through a bulk comprising, relative to a total bulk weight, at least 75 wt. % of titanium oxide nanostructures, to provide the dairy product comprising the antibiotic in a second, lesser amount, wherein the nanostructures have lengths at least two-fold in excess of their width and height. Bulk materials useful in this or related methods or applications may have loosely tangled, noodle-like morphologies on sub-100 nm scale, and need not employ graphene and/or polymeric support networks in columns, generally having only titanium oxides without silicon or iron oxides.
METHODS AND SYSTEMS FOR REDUCING THE CONCENTRATION OF AMINE IN WASH LIQUID USED IN INDUSTRIAL PROCESSING
A method for reducing the concentration of amines in a wash liquid stream exiting a wash section in an acid gas scrubbing process includes introducing the wash liquid stream exiting the wash section of the acid gas scrubbing process to an adsorbent material, wherein the wash liquid stream has a first concentration of amines. The wash liquid stream having the first concentration of amines is flowed through the adsorbent material, and the adsorbent material retains at least a portion of the amines thereby providing a wash liquid stream having a second, reduced concentration of amines. The wash stream with reduced concentration of amines is recycled back to the wash section to remove amines more effectively from the acid gas being scrubbed. The adsorbent material can be regenerated for reuse. Amine recovered from the regenerated adsorbent material can be recycled to the process for reuse.
CARBON DIOXIDE ADSORBENT BASED ON HYDROPHOBIC SILANE-COATED AMINE-FUNCTIONALIZED MOF/ALUMINA COMPOSITE
The present invention relates to a carbon dioxide adsorbent based on a hydrophobic silane-coated amine-functionalized MOF/alumina composite and, more specifically, to a carbon dioxide adsorbent based on a hydrophobic silane-coated amine-functionalized MOF/alumina composite, capable of maintaining structural stability by means of the moisture present in exhaust gas, and thus can effectively capture carbon dioxide in a real fluidized bed. According to the present invention, provided are a carbon dioxide adsorbent and a preparation method therefor, the carbon dioxide adsorbent being capable of maintaining structural stability by means of the moisture present in exhaust gas since the surface of a porous metal-organic framework/alumina oxide composite is coated with hydrophobic silane.
PREPARATION METHOD OF MERCURY REMOVAL MATERIAL
A modified natural sulfide ore material, a preparation method, and a use thereof are disclosed. A natural sulfide ore and a copper salt are used as raw materials. The natural sulfide ore is modified through mechanical grinding for activation, drying, and the like to synthesize a sulfide ore composite. The copper salt is subjected to a reaction to increase metal sites, produce fine microcrystalline particles, and change the crystal structure, such that active sites can be fully exposed. When contacting mercury in a gas phase and/or a liquid phase, the modified natural sulfide ore material can convert the mercury into a stable compound to realize the immobilization and removal of the mercury, which has advantages such as large mercury adsorption capacity, high adsorption rate, wide application temperature range, low cost, abundant raw material reserves, simple operation, and environmentally-friendly mercury removal products without secondary pollution and shows promising industrial application prospects.
PROCESS FOR PREPARATION OF SUPERABSORBENT POLYMER
Described herein is a process for preparation of a superabsorbent polymer with high fluid absorptivity. Also described is a composition including the superabsorbent polymer.
