The methods relate to depositing one or more liquid pharmaceuticals into or onto a substrate that includes (a)(i) fibers, or (ii) both fibers and foam, and (b) activated carbon. The substrate adsorbs active pharmaceutical ingredients and absorbs a carrier liquid to facilitate safe disposal of the one or more liquid pharmaceuticals. Pharmaceutical disposal kits suitable for disposing of liquid pharmaceuticals and dissolved solid pharmaceuticals are also disclosed. The pharmaceutical disposal kits include a substrate that (1) includes (a)(i) fibers or (ii) both fibers and foam, and (b) activated carbon, and (2) is capable of adsorbing active pharmaceutical ingredients and absorbing a carrier liquid to facilitate safe disposal of the one or more liquid pharmaceuticals.
Dual ligand sol-gel sorbent combining superhydrophobicity and Π-Π interaction
A method of coating at least one silica capillary using a novel dual ligand sol-gel sorbent and method of manufacture of such sorbent is provided herein. The dual ligand sol-gel sorbent provides superior enrichment effects through simultaneous exploitation of superhydrophobicity of one of the ligands and the ability of the other ligand to undergo π-π interaction with hydrophobic aromatic analytes. Sorbent performance is enhanced both in terms of analyte enrichment and sorbent stability, such as pH stability and solvent stability.
Filtration Body Using Layered Double Hydroxide and Method for Manufacturing Said Filtration Body
Producing a filtration body formed of a layered double hydroxide having a crystallite size of 20 nm or less carried on a carrier including a thermally fusible fiber is described. The carrier is prepared that has a first mesh carrier having a first mesh size and a second mesh carrier provided above the first mesh carrier. The second mesh carrier has a second mesh size larger than the first mesh size. A layered double hydroxide in the form of granules is supplied toward the second mesh carrier. The first mesh carrier carries the layered double hydroxide that has passed through the second mesh carrier. The carrier is shaken so that a portion of the layered double hydroxide (e.g., at least one granule) passes through the first and second mesh carriers. Thereafter, the layered double hydroxide carried on the first mesh carrier is adhered by thermally fusing the thermally fusible fiber.
ADSORBING MATERIAL FOR SOLUBLE TUMOR NECROSIS FACTOR RECEPTOR
The present invention aims to provide a material for adsorbing soluble tumor necrosis factor receptors with high efficiency. The present invention provides an adsorbing material for soluble tumor necrosis factor receptors, which includes a superficially porous water-insoluble polymeric material, wherein the pore size distribution curve for the surface of the water-insoluble polymeric material, which is derived from a distribution of melting points determined by differential scanning calorimeter, shows the peak radius in the range of 1 to 80 nm, and the water-insoluble polymeric material has a zeta potential at pH 7.4 of −15 to 15 mV, and the water-insoluble polymeric material is in fiber, particle, or film form.
PREPARATION OF ADSORBENT FILTERS PRE-LABELLED WITH STANDARDS FOR THE EVALUATION OF SAMPLING OF POLLUTANTS IN LIQUID AND AERIFORM MATRICES
A filtering and adsorbent sampling and enrichment system comprising a stationary phase consisting of a felt of activated carbon fibres with a micro-meso porous conformation and specific surface area of about 1500 m2/g and sampling and/or enrichment standards, confined within a closed casing, is described, as well as the method for obtaining it and the relative process for the analysis of organic and inorganic analytes that uses said system.
