Sea-island composite fiber, carrier for adsorption, and medical column provided with carrier for adsorption
An object of the present invention is to provide a ligand-immobilized sea-island composite fiber in which generation of fine particles due to peeling of a sea component from an island component and generation of fine particles due to destruction of a fragile sea component are both suppressed. The present invention provides a sea-island composite fiber comprising a sea component and island components, in which a value (L/S) obtained by dividing the average total length (L) of the perimeter of all island components in a cross section perpendicular to the fiber axis by the average cross-sectional area (S) of the cross section is from 1.0 to 50.0 μm.sup.−1, a distance from the surface to the outermost island component is 1.9 μm or less, and an amino group-containing compound is covalently bonded to a polymer constituting the sea component at a charge density of 0.1 μmol or more and less than 500 μmol per 1 gram dry weight.
Single-Step Synthesis of CHEmisorption Fiber Sorbents (CHEFS) for the Capture of CO2 and Removal of Water Contaminants
One or more embodiments relates to method for generating CHEFS having the steps of generating the CHEFS from a dope. One or more embodiments relates to a method for generating CHEFS having amine functional groups having the steps of generating a dope containing a BIAS with amine groups, at least one polymer, and at least one solvent; and forming CHEFS from the dope, wherein the generated CHEFS have no more than 30% amine loss compared to the BIAS.
Moisture permeable device, refrigerator and manufacturing method thereof
A manufacturing method for a moisture permeable device suitable for use in a refrigerator where the device includes a corresponding first surface (110) and second surface (111); at least parts of the first surface (110) and the second surface (111) of the moisture permeable device define a hollow cavity (301); through-holes are provided at regions of the first surface (110) and the second surface (111) of the moisture permeable device defining the cavity (301); and regenerated cellulose is accommodated in the cavity (301) includes the steps of pouring a regenerated cellulose slurry with a tackifier added thereto into the cavity (301) to form a moisture permeable film, thus allowing omission of an assembling procedure and a non-woven support.
Elastomeric Laminate
Methods and (articles of manufacture therefrom) including forming an elastic film from a polymer composition; tensioning the elastic film to a stretch ratio of between 2 and 6 in the MD; laminating the elastic film to an extensible facing to provide an elastomeric laminate having a CD hysteresis loss of 70% or less and an MD hysteresis loss of 50% or less.
PHOSPHORUS NITRIDE ADSORBENT WITH HIGH-EFFICIENCY SELECTIVITY AND ITS APPLICATIONS IN REMOVING URANIUM POLLUTION AND EXTRACTING URANIUM FROM SEAWATER
The invention discloses a phosphorus nitride adsorbent with high-efficiency selectivity, and its application thereof. The phosphorus nitride adsorbent has a mutually cross-linked hollow tubular structure. The adsorbent can have an adsorption capacity of 435.58 mg.Math.g.sup.−1 and 7.01 mg.Math.g.sup.−1 for spiked seawater and natural seawater with a uranium concentration of 350 ppb, and the adsorbent has a long service life, and can still maintain 91.14% of the initial adsorption capacity after 5 cycles of adsorption and desorption. Taking into account the advantages of a short material preparation cycle, a wide range of raw material sources, a low cost, an excellent adsorption performance, and long service life, the adsorbent can be used in technical fields such as uranium-containing wastewater treatment, uranium ore resource recovery, uranium extraction from seawater and the like.
Porous, wet-triggered shrinkable materials
A substrate includes a double-network polymer system including a cross-linked, covalently-bonded polymer and a reversible, partially ionicly-bonded polymer, wherein the substrate has a moisture level less than or equal to 15 percent of the total weight of the substrate, wherein the substrate is porous, and wherein the substrate includes a latent retractive force. A method for manufacturing a substrate includes producing a double-network hydrogel including a cross-linked, covalently-bonded polymer and a reversible, ionicly-bonded polymer; elongating by force the double-network hydrogel in at least one direction; treating the double-network hydrogel with an organic solvent with a volatile and water-miscible organic solvent to replace a majority of water within the double-network hydrogel; evaporating the organic solvent while the double-network hydrogel is still elongated to form a substantially-dried double-network polymer system; and releasing the force to produce the substrate.
