Chromatography medium with bound microglobules and method for the preparation thereof
A chromatography medium includes a porous matrix and nonporous globules bound on the inner and outer surfaces of the porous matrix. The average radius of the microglobules is not more than 30% of the average pore diameter of the porous matrix. The chromatography medium can be used in affinity chromatography. A method for preparing the chromatography medium may include providing a porous starting matrix, providing a polymerization solution, and initiating polymerization of the polymerization solution in the presence of the porous starting matrix to form insoluble nonporous microglobules that are bound to the inner and outer surfaces of the porous starting matrix.
Moisture absorbent pack for vehicle lamp
A moisture absorbent for a vehicle lamp includes a first inorganic material, a second inorganic material, alkali metal phosphate, and a polymer wax are included. A composite moisture absorbent structure includes a first moisture absorbent pack including a powder type moisture absorbent and a second moisture absorbent pack including a capsule type moisture absorbent are embedded.
LAYERED SORBENT STRUCTURES
A shaped sorbent is described comprising a plurality of layers of photopolymerised resin containing particles of a sorbent material. The shaped sorbent may be used as a getter for use in gettering one or more contaminants in a sealed enclosure.
Boron nitride polymer composite foam derived from emulsions stabilized by boron nitride kinetic trapping
The present disclosure provides advantageous graphene/graphite stabilized composites (e.g., graphene/graphite stabilized emulsion-templated foam composites), and improved methods for fabricating such graphene/graphite stabilized composites. More particularly, the present disclosure provides improved methods for fabricating pristine, graphene/graphite/polymer composite foams derived from emulsions stabilized by graphene/graphite kinetic trapping. In exemplary embodiments, the present disclosure provides that, instead of viewing the insolubility of pristine graphene/graphite as an obstacle to be overcome, it is utilized as a means to create or fabricate water/oil emulsions, with graphene/graphite stabilizing the spheres formed. These emulsions are then the frameworks used to make foam composites that have shown bulk conductivities up to about 2 S/m, as well as compressive moduli up to about 100 MPa and breaking strengths of over 1200 psi, with densities as low as about 0.25 g/cm.sup.3.
POLYMER COMPOSITIONS CONTAINING ZEOLITE FOR ENHANCED WATER ADSORPTION
This invention relates generally to zeolites and polymer compositions with zeolites having enhanced adsorption capacity for adsorption of water, ammonia and other similar compounds. The invention is directed particularly to aluminosilicate zeolites, and methods for preparing zeolite entrained polymer compositions having enhanced water adsorption properties. This invention relates also to improved packaging materials with enhanced water adsorption properties incorporating the polymer compositions containing zeolites.
WATER-ABSORBING COMPOSITION AND PRODUCTION METHOD THEREFOR
An absorbent composition containing cellulose nanofibers and a cellulose derivative and a method for making the same are disclosed. The cellulose derivative has a viscosity of 1000 mPa.Math.s or higher in a 1 mass % aqueous solution at 25° C. and a degree of etherification of less than 0.9. The cellulose derivative is preferably at least one member selected from the group consisting of carboxymethyl cellulose, carboxyethyl cellulose, a carboxymethyl cellulose salt, and a carboxyethyl cellulose salt, more preferably a carboxymethyl cellulose salt, even more preferably sodium carboxymethyl cellulose.
POLYMER COMPOSITIONS COMPRISING ACTIVE CARBON FOR FORMALDEHYDE SORPTION
Disclosed are polymer compositions comprising activated carbon and method of making the polymer compositions that are used for sorption of formaldehyde from air, gas or liquids. The activated carbon is entrained in at least one base polymer with optional channels throughout.
MOF-BASED PRODUCT AND METHOD FOR PRODUCING MOF-BASED PRODUCTS
A product based on a metal-organic framework (MOF) and the method for producing same, the product containing particles bound by a binder, the binder including boehmite, the particles being essentially MOF particles and, optionally, particles of a ceramic material other than boehmite.
Composition for mineralizing carbon dioxide and nitrogen oxide gases and uses thereof
The invention relates to a composition for mineralising carbon dioxide and nitrogen oxide gases, which comprises a mixture of magnesium (between 1 and 25%), iron (between 1 and 23%), calcium monoxide (between 1 and 25%), titanium dioxide (between 0.1 and 11%) and silicon dioxide (between 16 and 75%), with a particle diameter between 100 nm and 4000 μm. The composition causes the mineralisation of carbon dioxide (CO.sub.2) and of the gaseous chemical compounds known as “nitrogen oxides” (NO.sub.x) in the atmosphere. This composition can be added or mixed as an additive in paints, dyes, resins and elastic polymers (gum and natural rubber) in parts with wear, and for any type of covering.
High-capacity dispensable getter
High-capacity dispensable moisture and hydrogen getter to be used as sealant and/or to control the level of these substances in electronic or optoelectronic sensitive devices, its use for the hermetic sealing or semi-hermetic sealing of such electronic or optoelectronic sensitive devices and a method to control the level of contaminants within them.
