METHOD, SYSTEM, AND DEVICE FOR STORAGE AND DELIVERY OF PROCESS GAS FROM A SUBSTRATE
Provided herein are methods, systems, and devices incorporating use of materials to store, ship, and deliver process gases to micro-electronics fabrication processes and other critical process applications.
Methods of separating substances from fluids
Disclosed are composite materials and methods of making them. The composite materials comprise a support member and a cross-linked gel, wherein the cross-linked gel is a polymer synthesized by thiol-ene or thiol-yne polymerization and cross-linking. The cross-linked gel may be functionalized by a thiol-ene or thiol-yne grafting reaction, either simultaneously with the polymerization or as the second step in a two-step procedure. The composite materials are useful as chromatographic separation media.
Preparing Method of Super Absorbent Polymer Sheet and Super Absorbent Polymer Sheet Prepared Therefrom
The present disclosure relates to a preparing method of a super absorbent polymer sheet and a super absorbent polymer sheet prepared therefrom. The preparing method of a super absorbent polymer sheet of the present disclosure may prepare a porous flexible super absorbent polymer sheet exhibiting high flexibility and fast absorption rate.
METAL ORGANIC FRAMEWORKS FOR GAS SEPARATION APPLICATIONS
Embodiments of the present disclose provide a method of sorbing one or more compounds from a fluid, wherein the method may include contacting a M-soc-MOF composition with a fluid containing at least H.sub.2S and one or more of CO.sub.2 and CH.sub.4; and sorbing at least H.sub.2S from the fluid. Embodiments of the present disclosure provide a membrane that may include a metal-organic framework (MOF) composition, wherein the MOF composition includes a M-soc-MOF composition, where M is a metal and soc is a square-octahedral topology, and wherein the M-soc-MOF composition is a continuous thin film on a support.
METAL ORGANIC FRAMEWORK MEMBRANES
Disclosed herein is an ion selective separation membrane including: a metal organic framework layer formed on, in, and/or around a substrate, the metal organic framework having a crystal structure that includes a first surface and a second surface and includes ion transport channels formed between respective pore windows in the first surface and the second surface; first and second electrodes to apply a potential difference across the membrane; wherein the respective pore windows have a pore size that is less than the hydrated diameter of the ion for which the ion selective separation membrane is selective.
Chromatography medium
The present invention provides a process for preparing a functionalised polymeric chromatography medium, which process comprises (I) providing two or more non-woven sheets stacked one on top of the other, each said sheet comprising one or more polymer nanofibres, (II) simultaneously heating and pressing the stack of sheets to fuse points of contact between the nanofibres of adjacent sheets, and (III) contacting the pressed and heated product with a reagent which functionalises the product of step (II) as a chromatography medium.
POLYMERIC SUBSTRATES WITH ATTACHED POLYMERIC CHAINS
Articles with covalently attached thiocarbonylthio-containing groups are provided. More specifically, the articles include a solid polymeric substrate with a plurality of thiocarbonylthio-containing groups covalently attached directly to a carbon atom in a polymeric backbone of the solid polymeric substrate. Methods of making the articles with covalently attached thiocarbonylthio-containing are provided. Additionally, methods of using these articles to generate further articles with covalently attached polymeric chains are provided.
WATER-ABSORBING RESIN
Provided is a water-absorbent resin which is capable of giving an absorbent material improved gel-shape stability and which has excellent water-absorption capacity. A water-absorbent resin of the present invention is a polymer of a water-soluble ethylenically unsaturated monomer, and has the following properties (1) and (2): (1) A disintegration amount at 20-fold swelling is 30% by mass or less; and (2) a solubility in physiological saline is 25% by mass or less. (Determination Method for Disintegration Amount at 20-Fold Swelling) 5 g of the water-absorbent resin is added to 100 g of physiological saline to allow the water-absorbent resin to absorb the physiological saline, thereby obtaining a gel. The obtained gel is divided approximately equally into five portions, and these portions are introduced respectively into cylindrical molds having a length of 3.6 cm and a radius of 2.8 cm and molded. The masses of the five molded cylindrical gels are measured. The heaviest and the lightest of the five gels are removed, and the remaining three gels are used as samples. A mass Wa (g) of each sample is measured. Each weighed sample is placed on the uppermost sieve of a combination of JIS standard sieves having a mesh size of 5.6 mm and a receptacle in this order and shaken for 10 minutes using a Ro-Tap shaker (rotation speed, 290 rpm; number of taps, 165 rpm). A mass Wb (g) of the gel which has passed through the sieves is measured. The disintegration amount of each sample is calculated using the following equation: Disintegration amount of sample (%)=Wb (g)/Wa (g)100. An average of the disintegration amounts for three samples to be measured is regarded as the disintegration amount at 20-fold swelling of the water-absorbent resin.
