Products for treating inflammation, infections, disease, and malodors containing adsorbent porous carbonaceous material
20210016243 · 2021-01-21 · ·

The present invention includes the composition and manufacturing of a non-prescription consumer product to treat odor and various types of inflammations, infections, and diseases. It embodies a disposable absorbent or nonabsorbent article containing unbound/freely associating adsorbent porous carbonaceous material for the entrapment and/or treatment of odor, pathogens, and adverse biological by-products. The product form includes but is not limited to tampons, panty liners, incontinence pads, diapers, sanitary towels, swabs, balls, casts, pouches, bandages and/or plugs, which contain adsorbent porous carbonaceous material that effectively reduces or eliminates adverse situations sourcing from pathogens and harmful biological by-products, including but not limited to fungi, bacteria, viruses, and parasites. The article is used to treat malodor, yeast infections, vaginitis, sexually transmitted diseases, field bullet wound holes, tooth infections, nail-bed and cuticle infections, among others by way of internal insertion and/or complete covering the body cavity, wound, and/or affected areas, creating a clear and direct path for contact with pathogens and adverse biological by-products.

SORBENT POUCH

A sorbent pouch for use in sorbent dialysis. The sorbent pouch allows for fluid to freely pass into and through the sorbent materials, while keeping the sorbent materials inside the sorbent pouch.

Gas-adsorbing material and vacuum insulation material including the same

Example embodiments relate to a gas-adsorbing material capable of reducing the generation amount of combustible gas without deteriorating gas-adsorbing performance, and a vacuum insulation material including the gas-adsorbing material. The gas-adsorbing material may include a metal selected from at least one of Li, V, Zr, or an alloy including the same, which adsorbs a nitrogen gas and is inactivated by moisture as a nitrogen adsorbing agent, and an additive added to the metal. The metal is attached on the particle surface of the additive. The metal may be an alloy including Li and an alkaline-earth metal, for example, BaLi alloy. The additive absorbs moisture, and is selected from at least one of an inorganic oxide, a transition metal, an oxide of a transition metal, an alloy including a transition metal, and a mixture including a transition metal.

Stormwater filter socks with multiple separated tubes

Multiple-tube stormwater filter socks may be used to mitigate stormwater environmental runoff of sediment, hydrocarbons and heavy metals. The stormwater filter socks comprise at least two tubes that are spaced apart by a separator web, and are filled with different types of absorbent media. The stormwater filter socks may be placed around the top grate of a storm drain chamber, and around other environmental runoff sources such as trash bins, roof downspouts and outdoor material stockpiles. The multiple-tube stormwater filter socks may be used to mitigate drips and spills of hydrocarbons such as motor oils, and may be used to contain zinc, copper, lead, chromium, cadmium and other heavy metals.

Organic gel or liquid chromatography method
10864461 · 2020-12-15 ·

The invention relates to a chromatography method in which a gaseous, liquid or supercritical mobile phase containing species to be separated is circulated through a packing, said packing comprising: a plurality of capillary ducts extending in the packing between an upstream face through which the mobile phase enters the packing and a downstream face through which the mobile phase leaves the packing, and a continuous medium permeable to molecular diffusion extending between said ducts, comprising a porous organic gel or an organic liquid and including at least one network of connected pores, the size of which is greater than two times the molecular diameter of at least one species to be separated and opening to the ducts, so as to give said at least one species a diffusive path between said ducts. The invention also relates to a packing for the implementation of such a method and a method for manufacturing such a packing.

Macromolecular compositions comprising indene-derivatives, preparation thereof, and use thereof

The present invention relates to a method for preparing a macromolecular composition comprising indene-derivatives. The invention also relates to the macromolecular compositions per se, and to methods of using the macromolecular compositions. The macromolecular compositions are useful for undergoing subsequent reactions with small molecules.

WATER-ABSORBENT RESIN

The purpose of the present invention is to provide a water-absorbent resin having excellent absorption properties in a localized absorption area. Provided is a water-absorbent resin composed of a polymer of water-soluble ethylenically unsaturated monomers, wherein the physiological saline absorption rate is 5-30 seconds, and the diffusion absorption rate under load expressed as a physiological saline absorption capacity under a load of 1.96 kPa in a local area of 78.5 mm2 is at least 10 g/g. This water-absorbent resin has excellent absorption properties in a localized absorption area.

Gaseous storage system, methods for making and using the same

The present description relates to an adsorbent monolith, method to make the adsorbent monolith, and a gaseous storage system that includes an adsorbent monolith according to the present disclosure. In particular, the adsorbent monolith includes adsorbent, a binder, and a scaffold material.
