Large Pore Agarose

The present invention relates to porous cross-linked agarose gel beads which have a low agarose content, a method for the preparation of the beads and their use in chromatographic applications. The beads are suitable for the separation/purification of biomolecules from a biological sample. Due to the high porosity of the beads, they are especially suitable for separation/isolation of larger particles, such as virus particles e.g. adeno virus.

Porous polymeric resins

Porous polymeric resins, reaction mixtures and methods that can be used to prepare the porous polymeric resins, and uses of the porous polymeric resin are described. More specifically, the polymeric resins typically have a hierarchical porous structure plus reactive groups that can be used to interact with or react with a variety of different target compounds. The reactive groups can be selected from an acidic group or a salt thereof, an amino group or salt thereof, a hydroxyl group, an azlactone group, a glycidyl group, or a combination thereof.

CHROMATOGRAPHY MEDIUM

The present invention is within the field of chromatography. More precisely, it relates to a novel chromatography medium, namely a hydrophobic medium provided with different lids excluding molecules over a certain size due to the porosity of the hydrophobic medium and/or the porosity of the lid. The invention also relates to use of the separation medium for purification of large molecules, which do not enter the separation medium, as well as small molecules, which enter the separation medium and are eluted from there.

A chromatographic medium having a separating agent layer, which is used to separate target substances, and a permeation layer, which is laminated so as to face the separating agent layer and which is used to enable permeation of the target substances separated by the separating agent layer, wherein a region in which the permeation layer is not laminated is present on a part of the separating agent layer, the separating agent layer exhibits a separating property for the target substances and exhibits an optical responsiveness to ultraviolet rays, and the permeation layer exhibits an optical responsiveness that is different from those of the target substances and the separating agent layer.

Chromatography media and method

Adsorptive media for chromatography, particularly ion-exchange chromatography, derived from a shaped fiber. In certain embodiments, the functionalized shaped fiber presents a fibrillated or ridged structure which greatly increases the surface area of the fibers when compared to ordinary fibers. Also disclosed herein is a method to add surface pendant functional groups that provides cation-exchange or anion-exchange functionality to the high surface area fibers. This pendant functionality is useful for the ion-exchange chromatographic purification of biomolecules, such as monoclonal antibodies (mAbs).
