FOAMED SKIN COMPATIBLE SILICONE COMPOSITION
A skin compatible component attachable to mammalian skin. The component is formed as a foamed silicone matrix comprising a polyorganosiloxane derived silicone polymer and moisture control particulate distributed within the polymer network being configured to absorb moisture from the skin. The foamed skin compatible component may be utilised as an ostomy wafer or flange to secure an ostomy appliance to the skin and in particular peristomal skin.
Carbon-based porous material and preparation method and use thereof
The present disclosure relates to a carbon-based porous material microscopically exhibiting a three-dimensional cross-linked net-like hierarchical pore structures with micropores nested in mesopores that are in turn nested in macropores. Such material provides for accelerated adsorption and desorption rates and lower desorption temperatures for recovery of organic gas molecules.
POROUS CALCIUM SILICATE HYDRATE, PREPARATION METHOD THEREOF AND ADSORBENT
A porous calcium silicate hydrate, a preparation method thereof and an adsorbent are provided. The preparation method of the porous calcium silicate hydrate includes: leaching fly ash with an alkali agent to obtain a silicate leaching solution; adding the silicate leaching solution dropwise to a calcium hydroxide suspension at a constant rate, and conducting stirring and a heating reaction to obtain a calcium silicate hydrate gel; and mixing the calcium silicate hydrate gel with an organic alcohol solvent, conducting azeotropic distillation, and then conducting separation, drying and calcination to obtain the porous calcium silicate hydrate.
Lightweight modified filter material, preparation method therefor and use thereof
A lightweight modified filter material, a preparation method therefor and use thereof, the lightweight modified filter material being prepared from the following components in parts by mass: 75-100 parts of waste glass, 5-20 parts of a metal oxide modifier and 1-10 parts of a foamer. The lightweight modified filter material has the advantages of being lightweight, having large specific surface area, a high isoelectric point, porosity and the like, increasing the isoelectric point and service life of the filter material. The added metal oxide can be combined with SiO2 in the glass to form Si—O-Me (Me metal ions) and enter the glass network.
COMPOSITE MATERIAL AND USE THEREOF IN DESULFURIZATION
A composite material is used for desulfurization. The composite material contains activated carbon, alkali metal oxides, silicon oxides, iron oxides, and rare earth element oxides. The weight ratio among the activated carbon, iron oxides and rare earth element oxides is 100:(0.5-5):(1-10). The composite material, used as a sulfur adsorbent, has a higher sulfur breakthrough capacity and desulfurization rate.
Support-free adsorbents for CO.SUB.2 .capture from air
A resin includes a functionalized aminopolymer having amine sites for capturing carbon dioxide molecules, where each aminopolymer molecule has at least one functional group amenable to crosslinking, a porogen, and a crosslinking initiator. A product includes an aminopolymer material formed into a self-supporting structure, the aminopolymer material including crosslinked aminopolymers having amine sites for the capture of carbon dioxide molecules.
IMPROVEMENTS IN LIQUID CHROMATOGRAPHY SUBSTRATES
A method for producing a porous copolymer monolith substrate for use in flow through liquid chromatography applications is disclosed. The method comprises forming a reaction composition comprising at least one monoethylenically unsaturated aryl monomer, at least one polyethylenically unsaturated aryl monomer, a RAFT agent, at least one liquid porogen, and a radical initiator. The reaction composition is introduced to a mold having a shape and dimensions suitable for forming a liquid chromatography substrate. The monoethylenically unsaturated aryl monomer, the polyethylenically unsaturated aryl monomer and the RAFT agent are copolymerised in the mold under conditions to form a solid copolymer network that is phase-separated from the reaction composition and/or any liquid components.
Nanoporous Superabsorbent Particles with Low Non-Solvent Levels
Superabsorbent particles having less than 1000 ppm non-solvent, a median size of from about 50 to about 2,000 micrometers, and containing nanopores having an average cross-sectional dimension of from about 10 to about 500 nanometers are provided. The superabsorbent particles exhibit a Vortex Time of about 80 seconds or less.
Method for manufacturing a solid adsorbent fiber
A solid adsorbent fiber includes a solid support fiber that is enveloped by a solidified polymeric binder and also adsorbent particles.
Composites for chemical sequestration decontamination
Materials for decontamination of compounds having a phosphorous-sulfur bond or a phosphorous-oxygen bond. A porous polymer, such as poly(dicyclopentadiene), contains particles of zirconium hydroxide. The polymer optionally has hydroperoxide groups.
