Adsorption material
An adsorption material which includes a carbon nanohorn aggregate in which a plurality of single-walled carbon nanohorns aggregate in a fibrous state, particularly coexisting a globular carbon nanohorn aggregate and some of the single-walled carbon nanohorns included in the carbon nanohorn aggregate have an opening portion, is used. The adsorption material including such a fibrous carbon nanohorn aggregate is produced by a method including: preparing an inert gas atmosphere, a nitrogen gas atmosphere or a mixed atmosphere in a vessel in which a catalyst-containing carbon target is placed; and evaporating the target to obtain a carbon nanohorn aggregate including a fibrous carbon nanohorn aggregate in which a plurality of single-walled carbon nanohorns aggregate in a fibrous state.
Synthesis of a MoVNbTe Shell Catalyst for Oxidative Dehydrogenation of Ethane to Ethylene
A novel coated catalyst having an outer shell which is composed of a catalyst material having high surface area and contains molybdenum, vanadium, tellurium and niobium, and the use of this catalyst for the oxidative dehydrogenation of ethane to ethene or the oxidation of propane to acrylic acid and also a process for producing the catalyst is disclosed.
Catalyst for dehydrogenation reaction of formate and hydrogenation reaction of bicarbonate and preparation method thereof
Provided is a method for preparing a catalyst for a dehydrogenation reaction of formate and a hydrogenation reaction of bicarbonate, the method including: adding a silica colloid to a polymerization step of polymerizing aniline and reacting the resulting mixture to form a poly(silica-aniline) composite; carbonizing the corresponding poly(silica-aniline) composite under an atmosphere of an inert gas; removing silica particles from the corresponding poly(silica-aniline) composite to form a polyaniline-based porous carbon support; and fixing palladium particles on the corresponding polyaniline-based porous carbon support to prepare the catalyst.
CATALYTIC WASHCOAT WITH CONTROLLED POROSITY FOR NOX ABATEMENT
The present disclosure recognizes a correlation between zeolitic surface area (ZSA) of a catalyst composition and its catalytic activity. Particularly, the disclosure provides catalyst articles for diesel NO.sub.x abatement, including a substrate and a washcoat layer containing metal-promoted molecular sieves, wherein the zeolitic surface area (ZSA) of the catalyst article is about 100 m.sup.2/g or greater, the volumetric surface area is about 900 m.sup.2/in.sup.3 or greater, and/or the total zeolitic surface area (tZSA) is about 1200 m.sup.2 or greater. The disclosure further relates to methods for evaluating ZSA, volumetric ZSA, and tZSA, e.g., including the steps of coating a catalyst composition comprising metal-promoted molecular sieves onto a substrate; calcining and aging the catalyst composition; determining the ZSA (or volumetric ZSA or tZSA) thereof; and correlating the ZSA (or volumetric ZSA or tZSA) with catalyst composition NO.sub.x abatement activity to determine whether the catalyst composition is suitable for an intended use.
PHOTO-REDOX TITANIUM CONTAINING ORGANIC FRAMEWORKS AND METHODS OF MAKING AND USE THEREOF
Disclosed herein are metal-organic frameworks and methods of making and use thereof.
MESOPOROUS SILICA SUPPORTED CATALYST FOR OXIDATIVE DEHYDROGENATION
Oxidative dehydrogenation catalysts comprising bismuth and nickel oxides impregnated on mesoporous silica supports such as SBA-15 and mesoporous silica foam. Methods of preparing and characterizing the catalysts as well as processes for oxidatively dehydrogenating n-butane to butadiene using the catalysts are also described. The disclosed catalysts demonstrate higher n-butane conversion and butadiene selectivity than catalysts supported by conventional silica.
Zeolite synthesis with a fluoride source
Provided are a novel synthesis technique for producing pure phase aluminosilicate zeolite and a catalyst comprising the phase pure zeolite in combination with a metal, and methods of using the same.
Composite Metal Organic Framework Materials, Processes for Their Manufacture and Uses Thereof
A monolithic metal-organic framework (MOF) composite body is disclosed, comprising: MOF crystallites adhered to each other via a binder comprising MOF; and at least 0.15 vol % nanoparticles encapsulated in the MOF body. The nanoparticles have an average particle size corresponding to an average particle diameter in the range 3-200 nm. The nanoparticles may have photocatalytic activity. The MOF composite body is of use for treating water containing an organic dye, the photocatalytic reaction supported by the photocatalytic nanoparticles being a degradation reaction of the organic dye.
Catalyst Compositions and Their Use in Aromatic Alkylation Processes
Catalyst composition which comprises a first zeolite having a BEA* framework type and a second zeolite having a MOR framework type and a mesopore surface area of greater than 30 m.sup.2/g is disclosed. These catalyst compositions are used to remove catalyst poisons from untreated feed streams having one or more impurities which cause deactivation of the downstream catalysts employed in hydrocarbon conversion processes, such as those that produce mono-alkylated aromatic compounds.
