REVERSE FLOW REACTORS WITH SELECTIVE FLUE GAS CASCADE
Systems and methods are provided for improving the operation of groups of reverse flow reactors by operating reactors in a regeneration portion of the reaction cycle to have improved flue gas management. The flue gas from reactor(s) at a later portion of the regeneration step can be selectively used for recycle back to the reactors as a diluent/heat transport fluid. The flue gas from a reactor earlier in a regeneration step can be preferentially used as the gas vented from the system to maintain the desired volume of gas within the system. This results in preferential use of higher temperature flue gas for recycle and lower temperature flue gas for venting from the system. This improved use of flue gas within a reaction system including reverse flow reactors can allow for improved reaction performance while reducing or minimizing heat losses during the regeneration portion of the reaction cycle.
CHEMICAL SYNTHESIS DEVICE
A chemical synthesis device includes a reaction vessel, a waste liquid tank and an intermediate container. A chemical is supplied to the reaction vessel. The waste liquid tank is configured to hold waste liquid discharged from the reaction vessel. The intermediate container has a smaller capacity than the waste liquid tank. The intermediate container is provided between the reaction vessel and the waste liquid tank, via a waste liquid pipe. The pressure of the intermediate container is adjusted to adjust the flow supplied to the reaction vessel and the flow discharged from the reaction vessel.
Method for producing acrolein and/or acrylic acid from glycerol
The invention relates to the production of acrolein and/or acrylic acid from glycerol, and more particularly to a method for continuous production of a stream comprising acrolein by dehydration of glycerol, comprising cycles of reaction and regeneration of a dehydration catalyst.
Device allowing the temporary storage and putting back into circulation of a certain quantity of catalyst in catalytic reforming installations
A device that firstly allows temporary storage of a certain quantity of catalyst and, secondly, allows putting back into circulation of this quantity of catalyst in regenerative reforming installations following an interruption in the circulation of the catalyst.
Moving bed catalytic reactor for managing interruptions to the circulation of catalyst, and process using said reactor
The present invention describes a catalytic reactor operating as a moving bed to manage interruptions in the circulation of catalyst while at the same time avoiding mechanical damage to the contact means containing the catalyst. The invention also concerns a refining or petrochemicals process using the reactor in accordance with the invention.
DEVICE ALLOWING THE TEMPORARY STORAGE AND PUTTING BACK INTO CIRCULATION OF A CERTAIN QUANTITY OF CATALYST IN CATALYTIC REFORMING INSTALLATIONS
The present invention describes a device that firstly allows temporary storage of a certain quantity of catalyst and, secondly, the putting back into circulation of said quantity in the regenerative reforming installations following an interruption in the circulation of the catalyst.
PROCESS FOR SHUTTING-DOWN AND HEATING UP A TUBULAR REACTOR FOR A CATALYTIC GAS PHASE REACTION
The present invention relates to a process for shutting-down a tubular reactor (1) for a catalytic gas phase reaction from a reaction temperature, wherein the tubular reactor (1) comprises a plurality of vertically arranged reaction tubes (2), an upper tube sheet (5) and a lower tube sheet (6) which each are connected to upper ends and lower ends of the reaction tubes (2) in a gas-tight manner, and a reactor shell (7) which encloses the plurality of reaction tubes (2) forming a liquid-tight heat transfer space (9), wherein, in operation mode, a substantially anhydrous liquefied salt melt (8) is circulated in the heat transfer space (9), characterized in that water (10) is added to the substantially anhydrous liquefied salt melt (8), obtaining a water-salt mixture (11), while cooling the tubular reactor (1) to a temperature below the solidification temperature of the substantially anhydrous liquefied salt melt (8), such that the water-salt mixture (11) is kept in a liquefied state during the whole cooling step of the tubular reactor (1).
