FLOW-THROUGH REACTORS FOR THE CONTINUOUS QUENCHING OF PEROXIDE MIXTURES AND METHODS COMPRISING THE SAME
This disclosure relates to a highly efficient and safe reactor for the continuous quenching of peroxide mixtures generated during the reaction of unsaturated compounds with ozone, which minimizes the amount of highly reactive peroxides accumulated in the reactor at any given time. The reactor may be modified to allow for expansion to accommodate the quenching parameters of a wide variety of ozonolysis reactions and flow rates. The reactor may be constructed from highly pressure rated stainless steel for maximum durability, safety, and economic practicality while increasing the safety of peroxide quenching, thus allowing tighter process control and improved product yields. This disclosure also related to methods for quenching ozonides.
FLOW REACTOR SYNTHESIS OF POLYMERS
A flow reactor system and methods having tubing useful as polymerization chamber. The flow reactor has at least one inlet and at least one mixing chamber, and an outlet. The method includes providing two phases, an aqueous phase and a non-aqueous phase and forming an emulsion for introduction into the flow reactor.
METHOD FOR PREPARING PHENOL
The present invention relates to the technical field of peroxide decomposition, and discloses a method for preparing phenol, which comprises the following steps: (1) mixing cumene hydroperoxide and liquid acid or solid acid with a solvent to form a homogeneous solution or uniformly dispersed system; (2) loading the homogeneous solution or uniformly dispersed system of cumene hydroperoxide with a homogeneous solution or uniformly dispersed system of acid into a preheating module and preheating in a micro-channel continuous flow mode, preliminarily mixing the preheated materials for reaction in a mixing module in a micro-channel continuous flow mode, and then further mixing the materials for reaction in a series of mixing and reaction module groups in a micro-channel continuous flow mode, to obtain phenol. The method provided in the present invention is easy, simple and safe to operate, can implement continuous production of phenol product at a high yield ratio; in addition, since the reaction in the present invention is a cracking reaction, which releases heat strongly, the safety factor of the process is significantly improved owing to the strong heat release characteristic in conjunction with the unique heat transfer property of the micro-channels. With the method provided in the present invention, the yield of the product is higher than 99%.
Continuous flow reactor with tunable heat transfer capability
A flow reactor fluidic module (12) includes a reactant fluid module (20) having an internal process fluid passage (22) and a first major planar outer surface (24a) and a thermal resistance R between the internal process fluid passage (22) and the first major planar surface (24); a thermal control fluid module (30) having an internal thermal control fluid passage (32) and a second major planar outer surface (34a); a holding structure (50) holding the reactant fluid module (20) and the thermal control fluid module (30); and a gap (25) separating the first major planar surface (24a) from the second major planar surface (34a). The gap (25) comprises an interchangeable or replaceable substance or sheet (26) having a thermal resistance G across the gap (25), wherein G is not equal to R.
FULL CONTINUOUS SYNTHESIS DEVICE AND METHOD FOR METRONIDAZOLE
A full continuous synthesis method of metronidazole is provided. An aqueous glyoxal solution, an aqueous acetaldehyde solution and aqueous ammonia are mixed and reacted to produce a 2-methylimidazole-containing reaction mixture, which is mixed with a nitric acid solution and then reacted in the presence of concentrated sulfuric acid to obtain a 2-methyl-5-nitroimidazole-containing reaction mixture. The 2-methyl-5-nitroimidazole-containing reaction mixture is divided by a splitter, such that one part is used to replace concentrated sulfuric acid, and the other part is mixed with formic acid, and undergoes a ring-opening reaction with ethylene oxide to obtain a metronidazole solution. The metronidazole solution is adjusted to pH 2-6 and filtered to obtain a filtrate, which is adjusted to pH 8-14 and filtered to obtain a crude product. The crude product is subjected to decoloring, crystallization, filtration and drying to obtain pure metronidazole with a purity greater than 99.9%.
