PREPARATION AND APPLICATION OF 4-METHYL-5-VINYLTHIAZOLYL POLYMERIC IONIC LIQUID

This invention belongs to the technical field of green preparation of environmentally friendly catalysts, and discloses a preparation method and application of mesoporous FeCu—ZSM-5 molecular sieve, in particular to a method for synthesizing mesoporous FeCu—ZSM-5 molecular sieve by one-pot method and the application in selective catalytic reduction (SCR) denitration reaction. This invention firstly proposes to combine the two calcinations after demolding and ion exchange into one, that is, the original powder is directly calcined to prepare a FeCu—ZSM-5 molecular sieve. The molecular sieve has several advantages such as window with wide temperature window, low cost, good hydrothermal stability and high SCR denitrification activity. Besides, the synthesis process does not use a (large) pore template, nor does it use a post-treatment method to construct the mesopores. Therefore, the method of the invention not only has the advantages of simple process, simple operation, but also good economic and environmental benefits.

METHODS FOR PRODUCING SILVER-AMENDED CARBON MATERIALS

Silver-amended carbon materials containing silver nanoparticles are prepared by a process involving an initial reduction of a porous carbon material, followed by contacting the reduced porous carbon material with an aqueous solution of a silver salt. Such silver-amended carbon materials may contain a relatively high loading of silver nanoparticles on both the outside surface and within the interior of the porous carbon material and are useful for disinfecting and/or otherwise purifying fluids such as microbe-containing fluids.

GRAPHENE COATED GLASS MATERIAL AND USES THEREOF
20210146332 · 2021-05-20 ·

A graphene coated crushed glass particle adsorbent is provided for the removal of heavy metals and other contaminants in from solutions such as wastewaters, contaminated surface water and groundwater. The adsorbent comprises crushed (e.g. recycled) glass coated with graphene nano-sheets using a staged thermal binding process and the silicas in the glass as a catalyst. The adsorbent may be configured for use in both in-situ and ex-situ treatment systems and is capable of removing heavy metals and other inorganic and organic contaminants. The strong adsorptive bond between contaminants and the graphene coating on crushed glass particles can also lead to alternative applications of the end of life adsorbent, such as base material in road and pavement (e.g. cement-like) construction materials.

The present disclosure provides methods for conducting chemical reactions and for conducting a multi-step chemical reactions using swellable organically modified silica (SOMS) as nanoreactors.

Methods for carbon dioxide capture

The subject invention provides systems and methods for capturing carbon dioxide in a cyclic process of mechano-chemical reactions. The subject invention also provides systems and methods for synthesizing siderite, by means of mechano-chemical reactions, using mill rotation. Siderite acts as an efficient reversible sorbent and can be decomposed, generating magnetite, carbon and/or metallic iron as well as pure carbon dioxide. Said systems and methods employing carbon dioxide capture/release reactions in the carbonation-calcination cycles are suitable for using in any iron, steel and non-steel industries to reduce carbon dioxide emissions into the atmosphere.

Method of preparing potable water

A method of removing organic carbon and other contaminants from a water stream. The method comprises screening large solids from the stream. Pre-oxidation chemicals may then be added. A coagulant is fed into the stream. An activated carbon, preferably formed from lignite, is added by pumping a highly concentrated activated carbon slurry into the stream. The stream, including the activated carbon and coagulant, next flows into a clarifier, where the coagulant will flocculate and enmesh the activated carbon. The activated carbon adsorbs organic carbon and other contaminants, including bacteria, pharmacological agents, and hydrocarbons, as the stream flows through the clarifier. Eventually, the flocculate will agglomerate and settle out in the clarifier, where it, the enmeshed carbon, and the contaminants they contain may be removed. The stream's organic carbon content exiting the clarifier will be much reduced. Accordingly, less primary oxidizing agent will be needed to treat any remaining organic carbon.

MAGNETIC COMPOSITE CONTAINING POLYETHYLENIMINE FUNCTIONALIZED ACTIVED CARBON AND METHODS THEREOF

A polymer/activated carbon composite made up of a branched polyethylenimine and magnetic cores involving Fe.sub.3O.sub.4 disposed activated carbon. The magnetic cores have activated carbonyl groups on the surface. A process for removing organic dyes, such as methyl red, as well as heavy metal ions from a polluted aqueous solution or an industrial wastewater utilizing the composite is introduced. A method of synthesizing the polymer/activated carbon composites is also specified.

METHOD FOR TREATING DRUG INTOXICATION

Methods and devices are disclosed for the treatment of a subject suffering from drug intoxication by cleansing a contaminated sample from the subject with adsorption media. The adsorption media composition is selected for its antithrombogenic properties and for its ability to adhere to one or more drug targets to be reduced or eliminated. The media can further be held in a cartridge for use in extracorporeal treatments such as those of hemoperfusion. Contacting the contaminated sample from the subject with the absorption medium allows for the separation of a portion of the drug target from the sample, producing a cleansed sample that can be infused into the subject.
