Assembly for storing and mixing two substances
Storage assembly for two substances to be mixed prior to use, comprising a closable dropper tip (3). A first storage chamber (7) is formed by the closable dropper tip (3) and a first container part (2, 4), the first container part (2, 4) being provided with at least one aperture (43). A second storage chamber (8) is formed by a second container part (5) which comprises an open end part (52, 53) that closes off the at least one aperture (43) in a first operational position. The first and second container part (2, 4; 5, 6) are moveable with respect to each other, and are in fluid communication through the at least one aperture (43) in a second operational position wherein the total flow surface area of the at least one aperture (43) is at least equal to a cross sectional area of the first container part (2, 4).
ADAPTER FOR CLINICAL, MEDICAL AND LABORATORY CONTAINERS
An adapter for clinical, medical and laboratory equipment containers comprises: (a) a cylindrical substrate wherein the substrate comprises a plurality of ribs that extend outwardly from the substrate to orient and hold the adapter in an opening of the container and (b) an elastomeric insert that is formed or inserted into an opening in the substrate wherein the elastomeric insert comprises: (i) a transfer instrument passageway that allows a tip of a transfer implement to pass through the elastomeric insert and allow a liquid contained in the container to be drawn into the transfer implement and (ii) an air passage structure to allow air to be drawn into the container when the liquid is being drawn into the transfer implement.
Method of controlling by-products of vitamin C degradation and improving package integrity shelf life
The invention is a method of venting the degradation products of an ascorbic acid containing composition. This prevents a build-up of carbon dioxide and may prolong the life of the packaging. The packaging includes an impermeable container and a semi-permeable top, which allows carbon dioxide to vent over time. When the composition includes water, the surface area of semi-permeable material contacting the composition is reduced to lessen water vapor loss.
Fluid dispenser
A fluid dispenser comprising: a fluid reservoir (1); and a pump (3) comprising a pump body (30) and an actuator rod (34), defining between them a pump chamber (33) having a predetermined maximum volume, the rod (34) being axially movable in the body (30) so as to vary the volume of the pump chamber (33); the dispenser being characterized in that it further comprises a dispenser cannula (5) that is mounted on the actuator rod (34) and that includes a dispenser outlet (52) that is suitable for forming a drop of fluid that separates from the cannula (5) by gravity, the determined maximum volume of the pump chamber (33) being substantially equal to the volume of the drop of fluid that is dispensed at the dispenser outlet (52).
DEVICE FOR PREPARING A LAYER OF BIOLOGICAL CELLS ON A SLIDE AND APPARATUS FOR AUTOMATICALLY PREPARING A LAYER OF CELLS USING SAID DEVICE
Disclosed is a device for preparing a layer of biological cells on a deposition surface of a slide, the device including a body provided with a channel, the body including a first end forming an inlet tip intended to enter inside a container containing a biological liquid, closed by a cap and a second end forming a depositing tip intended to deposit a drop of the liquid on the deposition surface, the second end including a spreader with a blade arranged in a plane forming an angle of inclination with the plane of the deposition surface and elastic return interposed between the blade and the second end.
Dropper with a light
The present invention provides a dropper having a light that can be switched on and off. The light provides illumination when liquid is being dispensed from a hollow tube of the dropper. The light helps to see how much of the liquid is being dispensed so that liquid would not be wasted.
Biological fluid micro-sample management device
A biological fluid collection device includes a collection module and an outer housing. The collection module includes a housing comprising a first end having a sample introduction opening, a second end having a sample dispensing opening, and a passageway extending between the sample introduction opening and the sample dispensing opening. A mixing chamber and a holding chamber are in fluid communication with the passageway such that a sample introduced into the sample introduction opening passes through the mixing chamber and subsequently into the holding chamber. The biological fluid collection device further includes a closure covering the first end, a cap covering the second end and including a vented plug, and an activation member adapted to force a sample contained in the holding chamber out of the sample dispensing opening. The collection module is positioned inside of the outer housing and the closure closes the open end of the outer housing.
