Biological fluid micro-sample management device

A biological fluid collection device includes a collection module and an outer housing. The collection module includes a housing comprising a first end having a sample introduction opening, a second end having a sample dispensing opening, and a passageway extending between the sample introduction opening and the sample dispensing opening. A mixing chamber and a holding chamber are in fluid communication with the passageway such that a sample introduced into the sample introduction opening passes through the mixing chamber and subsequently into the holding chamber. The biological fluid collection device further includes a closure covering the first end, a cap covering the second end and including a vented plug, and an activation member adapted to force a sample contained in the holding chamber out of the sample dispensing opening. The collection module is positioned inside of the outer housing and the closure closes the open end of the outer housing.

DROPPER WITH A LIGHT

The present invention provides a dropper having a light that can be switched on and off. The light provides illumination when liquid is being dispensed from a hollow tube of the dropper. The light helps to see how much of the liquid is being dispensed so that liquid would not be wasted.

A dripping container cover includes: a bottom part; a first pressing part; and a second pressing part including a face facing the first pressing part, wherein the above described face and a face of the first pressing part which faces the second pressing part are provided with projections, and wherein a distance between an end of each of the projections, the end being apart from the bottom part further than the other end, and the bottom part is at least a predetermined value and the projections are arranged within both outermost ranges of the storing part assuming that the storing part is divided into four in a width direction thereof or wherein the above distance is less than a predetermined value and the projections are arranged within central ranges of the storing part assuming that the storing part is divided into four in the width direction.

FLUID COLLECTION DEVICE

A fluid collection device comprising an elongate container having an opening at one end, and a swab that is insertable into the container through said opening, wherein: the swab comprises an absorbent collector, for acquiring a fluid sample in use; and the internal cross-sectional area of the container becomes smaller in a direction away from the opening, the internal cross-sectional area becoming sufficiently small so as to cause the absorbent collector to be radially compressed as the swab is inserted into the container in use, thereby causing the absorbent collector to release at least some of the fluid sample held therein. The swab may further comprise a shaft, the absorbent collector being at or near a distal end of the shaft, and a closure being at or near a proximal end of the shaft, the closure being adapted to engage with the container and to close the opening of the container with the absorbent collector inside the container. The closure may further comprise an outlet through which fluid within the container can be dispensed in use, subsequent to the closure having been engaged with the container.

The present specification discloses filtration devices for processing a biofluid sample, methods of purifying a biofluid sample using the disclosed filtration devices, and systems comprising components of the filtration devices.

PIPETTE DEVICE

A pipette device, including a container having a predetermined space therein, in one end of which a nozzle is formed and the other end of which is opened; a first fixing member whose one end is detachably coupled to the other end of the container; a second fixing member coupled to the other end of the first fixing member; and a pumping member that is inserted into the second fixing member such that an opened end portion faces the other end of the container and delivers internal air into the container by changing shape when it is pressed, wherein the opened end portion of the pumping member is fixed between the first fixing member and the second fixing member by coupling of the first fixing member and the second fixing member.

Cap assembly and dropper assembly as well as container system including the same

The present invention relates to a cap assembly configured to be attached to a container, the cap assembly comprising: a top cap which includes a rest position and a pressable position; a piston rod connected to the top cap, the piston rod being connected to a piston at the bottom to actuate the piston to move vertically, the piston rod further comprising an inclined upper guiding surface; a deformable element bearing at the top end against the upper guiding surface of the piston rod so that the deformable element is movable along the upper guiding surface; a support which is vertically movable to move the top cap from the rest position to the pressable position, the support including an inclined lower guiding surface against which the bottom end of the deformable element is supported so that the deformable element is movable along the lower guiding surface; when the top cap is pressed, the piston rod moves downwards and actuates the piston to move downwards to dispense material from a dispensing chamber while forcing the deformable element to deform from an initial state and to move along the upper guiding surface and the lower guiding surface; and when the top cap is released, the deformable element returns to the initial state.
