The present invention provides devices and systems for use at the point of care. The methods devices of the invention are directed toward automatic detection of analytes in a bodily fluid. Sample test cards

The present invention is directed to sample test cards having an increased sample well capacity for analyzing biological or other test samples. In one embodiment, the sample test cards of the present invention comprises a fluid channel network disposed in both the first surface and the second surface and connecting the fluid intake port to the sample wells, the fluid channel network comprising at least one distribution channels, a plurality of fill channels operatively connected to the at least one distribution channel, a plurality of through-channels operatively connected to one or more of the fill channels and a plurality of horizontally orientated fill ports operatively connecting the fill channels to the sample wells. In another embodiment, the sample test cards may comprise a fluid channel network comprising a first distribution channel disposed on a first surface, the first distribution channel comprising a fluid flow path from an fluid intake port to a plurality of second distribution channels or diffusion channels, wherein the second distribution channel or diffusion channels further comprise a plurality of diffusion barriers or “islands” operable to interrupt fluid flow between opposing sample wells, and wherein the second distribution channels or diffusion channels are operatively connected to the sample wells by a plurality of fill channels. The test card of this invention may comprise from 80 to 140 individual sample wells, for example, in a test card sample test cards of the present invention have a generally rectangular shape sample test card having dimensions of from about 90 to about 95 mm in width, from about 55 to about 60 mm in height and from about 4 to about 5 mm in thickness.

Devices, techniques, and processes are disclosed that use electrical impedance to detect of the presence and contents of droplets including cells, nucleic acids, proteins, or solute concentrations in an array of retrievable, trackable, trapped droplets in a fluidic system. Electrodes may be positioned underneath individual droplet traps in a microchannel to assay droplet contents and/or actuating droplets for the release of the droplets from corresponding traps. Reaction circuit design in microfluidic circuits

The microfluidic devices and systems disclosed herein reduce sample loss and help decrease sample processing bottlenecks for applications such as next generation sequencing (NGS). The microfluidic devices include a plurality of reaction modules. Each reaction module may comprise one or more reaction circuits. Each reaction circuit may comprise a single reaction flow channel with each reaction circuit connected by a bridge flow channel. Alternatively, each reaction circuit may comprise two or more reaction flow channels connected by two or more bridge flow channels. The combination of any two bridge flow channels and a portion of the two or more reaction flow channels between the any two bridge flow channels defining may define the reaction circuit. The reaction module may be arranged as nodes connected by bridge flow channels or each reaction module may be arranged in a parallel fashion on the microfluidic device.

A transport structure for accommodating a plurality of vials for pharmaceutical, medical or cosmetic use under non-sterile conditions is formed by an accommodation member and by a bearing member releasably connected thereto. The accommodation member comprises a plurality of frustro-conical receptacles in a regular arrangement so that the vials can be accommodated upright and while preventing a direct contact between adjacent vials in the receptacles of the accommodation member. The transport structure comprises latching structures for releasable latching of the accommodation member with the bearing member. According to the disclosure, the receptacles are matched to the height of the vials in such a manner that the vials can be completely accommodated therein, wherein the bearing member is formed by a base plate having a flat supporting surface facing the receptacles, so that the vials can be freely displaced on the supporting surface of the base plate after releasing the latching and can be pushed from the bearing member by displacement of the accommodation member relative to the bearing member. The accommodation member and/or the bearing member can be formed in one piece by thermoforming a plastic material, in particular by deep-drawing a thin film or a thin film plate.
