Combined immunoassay and magnetic immunoassay systems and devices for extended range of sensitivity
The present invention relates to systems that utilize a combination of immunoassay and magnetic immunoassay techniques to detect an analyte within an extended range of specified concentrations. In particular, a device is provided for detecting an analyte in a biological sample. The device includes a first electrochemical sensor positioned on a substrate. The first electrochemical sensor includes an immobilized layer of antibody configured to bind to the analyte. The device further includes a second electrochemical sensor positioned adjacent to the first electrochemical sensor on the substrate, and a magnetic material that generates a magnetic field aligned with respect to the second electrochemical sensor. The magnetic field captures magnetic beads that have an immobilized layer of antibody configured to bind to the analyte, and concentrates the magnetic beads on or near a surface of the second electrochemical sensor.
Filter life indicator media and holder
A media sample holder includes a base and a plurality of retention assemblies including retaining tabs and opposing flexible release lever arms, configured to allow attachment of the base to an attachment adapter. The media sample holder can attach a media sample on or near a filter. The media sample holder held in the media sample holder can have a different removal efficiency curve than a removal efficiency curve of the filter. The media sample can be placed at or near the filter for a period of time, then tested to determine the status and/or life of the filter based on the relationship between the remaining life, exposure, or removal efficiency of the filter and the exposure or removal efficiency of the tested media sample.
CARTRIDGES FOR IMMUNOASSAY TESTS AND METHODS OF USING THE SAME
This invention relates to an apparatus for conducting immunoassay test. The apparatus includes a groove unit having a groove along a vertical direction configured to hold a rod-shaped portion of a probe along the vertical direction, and a push pin configured to move along a horizontal direction, the push pin being capable of residing at a first position and a second position. A tip of the push pin is capable of pressing the rod-shaped portion of the probe against the groove when the push pin resides at the first position. The distance between the tip of the push pin and the groove is larger than a diameter of the rod-shaped portion of the probe when the push pin resides at the second position.
Sample collection and DNA preservation device
The present invention relates to a biological sample collection kit, which uses a unique dry preservative for the preservation of nucleic acids, DNA and RNA, for collection, stabilization, transportation and long-term room temperature storage of biological samples that can be from sources such as saliva for molecular diagnostic applications. The invention features a collection device for biological samples such as saliva containing nucleic acids, and dry preservatives that are affixed directly or to a carrier substrate and placed within the collection device such that the samples come into contact with the dry preservatives resulting in the preservation and stabilization of the nucleic acids.
AN APPARATUS FOR PROCESSING BIOLOGICAL MATERIAL
An apparatus for processing biological material includes a supporting structure, provided with a seat and with a rotation device supplied with constraining means, and a container for biological material, provided with a shaped body, with a base, shaped to match the seat of the supporting structure, with at least one valve (24a) for extracting the biological material, and with movable cutting means equipped with coupling means for coupling to the constraining means of the rotation device, in such a way as to acquire a relative motion relative to the container.
Air jacketed bead bath
A laboratory sample/specimen temperature control device, specifically a metal bead bath that has its metal bead temperature controlled by a continuous flow of air into the bed of beads that is heated or cooled by a Peltier device that the air flows over. This provides great thermal uniformity across the bed of beads and constantly monitors and regulates the heat or cooling input rather than utilizing an on/off modulation temperature input approach.
Reaction vessel and apparatus and method for opening and closing a reaction vessel
A method and apparatus for opening a reaction vessel having a body forming a volume for liquid, and a lid. In the method at least one reaction vessel is placed on a transport vehicle and the reaction vessel is positioned on the vehicle so that the vessel's rotation about its own axis is prevented. Then, the at least one reaction vessel is transferred on the vehicle and a guide rod, attached to the lid that is attached by a hinge to the reaction vessel, is pushed by the movement of the vehicle against a guide surface that forces the lid to turn on the hinge so that the lid is at least partially opened.
LIGHTING SOLUTION FOR A CONTAINMENT CHAMBER
A hatch that can be connected to a compartment such as the workstation or transfer airlock of a containment chamber, the hatch (17) comprising a wall (21), a seal (22) and a lighting device (23), the seal (22) allowing the passage of at least part of the radiation of the lighting device (23), the lighting device being arranged so as to omit the light in a direction at least partly opposite to the wall (21) and through the seal (22). The invention also relates to a containment chamber provided with such a hatch (17).
ON-SITE DETECTION OF PARASITIC INFECTION OF MAMMALS
A portable kit for generating a digital image of a faecal sample suitable for microscopic analysis, comprises a faecal sample preparation device configured to receive a faecal sample and a faecal flotation fluid, filter a suspension comprising the faecal sample and the faecal flotation fluid to provide a filtrate, a translucent faecal sample support, and a portable digital imaging module. The portable digital imaging module comprises a housing, a camera/microscopic lens assembly configured to generate a digital image of the faecal sample on the sample support, an illumination system, a seat for receiving the faecal sample support disposed between the camera/microscopic lens assembly and illumination system, a memory for storing the digital image, a communication system for communicating the digital image to an off-site image processing module via a communications network, and a battery operatively connected to the camera and microscopic lens assembly, memory and communication system.
Ergonomic numbered connector to hold tubes with improved cap
A lab consumable having a surface to display identifiers connected by a bridge encloses a tube. A specific sealer made up of hard and soft material is used close the tube. The connector for the sealer is made up of flexible, hard and various other material combinations. The surface where the identification is displayed has different surfaces and identifier. The identifier comprise of a number, alpha numerical, alphabets, symbol, barcode, customized sign, markings, hand written markings and a combination thereof.
