Disclosed is a chemiluminescence measurement apparatus that includes: a support member configured to support a cartridge for measuring a test substance contained in a specimen by chemiluminescence measurement; a motor configured to rotate the support member so as to rotate the cartridge such that a process required for the chemiluminescence measurement proceeds in the cartridge; and a light receiver configured to receive light generated by chemiluminescence in the cartridge that is supported by the support member rotated by the motor. The cartridge supported by the support member and a light receiving surface of the light receiver are disposed inside a dark space surrounded by a light-shielding portion, and the motor is disposed outside the dark space.

The invention relates to a centrifuge for cleaning a reaction vessel unit and to a method for cleaning such a centrifuge. The centrifuge has a rotor and a rotor chamber, in which the rotor is arranged and mounted, the rotor features a receiving area for receiving the reaction vessel unit. The rotor chamber is limited by a housing, the housing having an outlet to drain the liquid discharged from the reaction vessels and being provided with an inlet for filling the rotor chamber with a cleaning solution in such a way, when the rotor rotates, the rotor 2 is at least partially immersed in the cleaning solution and distributes it in rotor chamber and/or the inlet is designed in such a way that the cleaning solution is distributed in rotor chamber when it is supplied by the rotating rotor.
RECIRCULATION MECHANISM USING ELASTIC MEMBRANE
The present invention is directed to a recirculation system for use in microfluidic centrifugal disc platforms for reusing and mixing an entire sample. The present invention features a system comprising a reservoir, an input channel, a detection array, a pressure chamber, and a recirculation channel connecting the pressure chamber to the reservoir. The recirculation channel may have a resistance lower than the channel upstream resistance. When the CD platform spins at a high RPM, the liquid may be directed from the reservoir into the pressure chamber. When the RPM of the CD platform decreases rapidly, the liquid may be from the pressure chamber through the channel and through the recirculation channel to the reservoir, such that the liquid travels through the recirculation channel faster than the liquid travels through the channel.

The present invention is directed to an apparatus and method of fabricating a sealed storage system for environmentally sensitive aqueous materials with liquid flow control and on-demand distribution. The present invention features a sealed storage apparatus capable of compactly containing a liquid reagent with liquid control capabilities. The apparatus may comprise a liquid-impermeable, air-impermeable, resistant to force-induced tearing pouch body capable of being penetrated through the application of a laser. The apparatus may further comprise a pouch cavity disposed within the pouch body for holding the liquid reagent. The apparatus may further comprise a liquid-impermeable, air-impermeable, and resistant to force-induced tearing sealing adhesive disposed over the pouch cavity to seal the liquid reagent within the pouch body capable of being penetrated through the application of the laser. Thus, the apparatus may allow liquid to flow from any point on the said apparatus by simply directing the laser to the point.

This disclosure provides systems and methods to extend the capabilities of inertial and/or viscoelastic focusing in channels, such as microchannels. The new systems and methods can be integrated with existing microfluidic devices for inertial and/or viscoelastic manipulation of particles that have defied prior attempts, enabling a variety of applications in clinical diagnosis.
