Density separator for waste material
The separator according to the invention comprises: a tank (1) for receiving waste material and containing fluid to separate waste material by density into floating and settled material; automatic feed means (18, 37), for example, a double screen (18) to feed waste material to the tank (1); motorised conveyor belts (3, 4) divided into a floating waste material conveyor (3) and a settled waste material conveyor (4) to extract floating or settled waste material from the tank (1): and a blower-type sorting device (21) comprising: a turbine (22) that provides an airflow; and a branched duct (23) divided into: a riser duct (26) to transport part of the airflow to a diffuser (39) beneath the automatic feed means (18, 37) to raise light-weight waste material; and a discharge duct (27) to transport and horizontally expel another part of the airflow in order to remove previously raised waste material. The separator according to the invention may incorporate bubble-making means, with injectors (2) to facilitate floatability and remove floating waste material.
Flotation cell
THIS invention relates to froth flotation, and more specifically to a froth flotation cell and an internal sand removal arrangement for the froth flotation cell. The froth flotation cell included a tank having an operatively lower zone, an intermediate zone and an operatively upper zone, and a central dispersing chamber disposed in the intermediate zone of the tank. A slurry inlet is located in the operatively lower zone of the tank, and a slurry outlet conduit extends from the operatively upper zone of the tank towards a slurry outlet. The froth flotation cell is characterised in that the operatively lower zone is also selectively in flow communication with the slurry outlet of the tank, in order for slurry located in the operatively lower zone of the tank selectively to be displaceable into the slurry outlet.
HIGH INTENSITY CONDITIONING PRIOR TO ENHANCED MINERAL SEPARATION PROCESS
A system for separating mineral particles of interest from an ore features mineral processing operations/stages/circuits configured to receive an ore, or mineral particles or concentrates formed by processing the ore, and provide processed mineral particles or concentrates, or a waste stream, for further enhanced mineral separation downstream processing; an enhanced mineral separation processor having a collection apparatus located therein, the collection apparatus having a collection surface configured with a functionalized polymer including molecules having a functional group configured to attract the mineral particles of interest to the collection surface, the enhanced mineral separation processor receive the processed mineral particles or concentrates, or the waste stream, and provide further enhanced downstream processed mineral particles or concentrates, or a further enhanced downstream processed waste stream; and a high intensity conditioning operation, stage or circuit configured to apply a high intensity form of energy to the processed mineral particles or concentrates, or the waste stream, prior to further enhanced mineral separation downstream processing by the enhanced mineral separation processor.
Flotation Device
A flotation device having a flotation tank for receiving liquid to be purified, a saturator for receiving a pressurized liquid-gas mixture and at least one feeder. A line leads from the saturator to the feeder through which the pressurized liquid-gas mixture may be introduced into the flotation tank. The feeder includes a flow channel that has different flow cross sectional areas along the extension thereof. The flow channel may be a Venturi nozzle.

SYSTEM FOR RECOVERING FAT, OIL AND GREASE FROM WASTEWATER
A system for recovering fat, oil and grease (FOG) from wastewater has multiple annular flotation zones in a concentric configuration surrounding a central column to create progressively increasing surface areas for FOG and solid particles flotation, and thereby enhance FOG recovery and removal. Each flotation zone is equipped with an independent pressurized micro air and ozone bubbles distribution system. A controlled amount of ozone can be injected into the wastewater along with recirculated effluent and micro-size air bubbles. Upon the release of pressurized air-ozone-water mixture, micro-size bubbles are generated and distributed in each flotation zone to effectively float up FOG and solid particles in the wastewater stream.
Fluid removal apparatus for use with a weir tank
A separation apparatus that includes a weir tank having a plurality of cells and fluid removal apparatus for each cell to remove the fluid from each cell. The fluid removal apparatus includes an actuator and an extension arm whose movement is caused by the actuator. In addition to the actuator and the extension arm, the fluid removal apparatus includes a plunger attached to the extension arm for selectively engaging a first opening in each cell. Furthermore, a method of removing fluid from the separation apparatus via the fluid removal apparatus.
Dissolved air flotation skimmings separation system and method
A DAF skimmings separation system 10 that processes SPN/DAF skimmings 11 received from a meat processing facility to separate water and SPN-content solids includes a heating chamber coupled to a processor chamber having one or more pressurized discharge nozzles that expels DAF skimmings onto a spatter plate to cause SPN animal components within the DAF skimmings to break into smaller pieces denaturing the molecular structure and allowing the entrapped moisture to be evaporated within a heated airstream in the processing chamber, for separating nutritionally valuable SPN while reducing moisture content. A method of processing DAF skimmings to yield dryer SPN with reduced moisture content is disclosed.
