EQUIPMENT AND METHODS FOR AUTOMATED SAMPLE PROCESSING FOR DIAGNOSTIC PURPOSES
A tube for sample collection and sample processing in a tube rack includes an upper section, an intermediate section, and a lower section. The intermediate section connects the upper section and the lower section of the tube, and an inner diameter of the intermediate section can decrease from top to bottom. A fastening means can fix the tube in a tube rack. The tube can include a pierceable tube cap sealing the tube, and the tube rack can be configured such that the tube may be pulled off the tube cap by a centrifugation force. The tube can include a volume of density gradient medium covered by a separating gel to enhance sample separation.
Centrifuge rotor and container arrangement
A centrifuge rotor includes a rotor body having a base, a sidewall, and a top. The top defines an opening that provides access to an annulus cavity inside the rotor body. A cover is removably attachable to the rotor body to seal the annulus cavity. A drive hub extends from a portion of the base of the rotor body and couples to a drive shaft of a centrifuge motor. The rotor body is sized to receive one or more sample containers in the annulus cavity, and to constrain the one or more sample containers inside the annulus cavity between the base, the sidewall, and the top when the one or more containers are advanced radially against the sidewall.
Centrifuge and segment holder
A centrifuge (70) is provided with a cup (80) configured to house a blood bag system (10a) and centrifugally separates blood in the blood bag system (10a) by rotating the cup (80). The cup (80) has a segment holding section (86) capable of holding a plurality of segment tubes (44a), aligned in a parallel state by being folded at a sealing portion (44b) of an outlet-side tube (44), along a direction in which a centrifugal force acts during centrifugal processing or a direction inclined with respect to the direction in which the centrifugal force acts.
Tube rack of a centrifugal separator having bottom rubber members
A tube rack of a centrifugal separator, in which a bottom rubber portion can be readily mounted and readily replaced, and yet such bottom rubber portion cannot be easily separated. The tube rack includes a holder (14) including a plurality of tube holes (12) each configured to accommodate a tube that is used for a sample and each includes an opening at one end portion of the holder serving as a tube insertion side, and an opening at a bottom portion of the holder that is at the other end. The tube rack includes a bottom rubber portion (15) including a plurality of bottom rubber members (25) each fits in the tube hole (12), and including connecting pieces (24). The tube rack includes a base (13) formed in a cylindrical shape having a bottom configured to accommodate and detachably hold the holder (14) and the bottom rubber portion (15), and to be inserted into a bucket of the centrifugal separator.
Adapter For A Centrifuge Rotor And Corresponding Kits And Methods
An adaptor for a centrifuge rotor is provided. The adaptor comprises: a body comprising a plurality of bores arranged in a row each having a first diameter and each bore for receiving a first sample container; and a primary protrusion extending from the body. The primary protrusion has a second diameter and the primary protrusion is for being received in a rotor bore of a centrifuge rotor. The rotor bore is for receiving second sample containers.
CENTRIFUGE INSERT
A centrifuge insert is provided which is not only suited for one type of sample container or sample carrier but for at least two geometrically different elements from the group consisting of sample container and sample carrier. This achieves that the same centrifuge insert can be used for different sample containers or sample carriers. This provides space savings, in particular in the lab. Furthermore acquisition cost is reduced, and handling is accelerated by reducing manual complexity which increases lab through put.
Support device for a sample material container for centrifugation
The invention relates to a support device (14) for supporting a bag (20) containing material to be centrifuged in a centrifuge receptacle (12), said support device (14) comprising a resiliently elastic panel (16) whichwhen bentwill generate a restoring force, said panel (16) being of a material and a size which will allow it to be bent elastically at least to such an extent that its two ends will contact one another.
Compact reverse flow centrifuge system
Provided is a chamber configuration for a reverse flow centrifuge, and a reverse flow centrifuge system configured for low fluid volume and small radius rotation. The compact reverse flow centrifuge system has a reusable subsystem and a single use replaceable subsystem. The replaceable subsystem comprises a separation chamber, fluid delivery manifold and rotational mounting connecting the separation chamber to the fluid manifold. The single use replaceable subsystem provides a closed environment for execution of reverse flow centrifugation processes. The separation chamber has a substantially conical fluid enclosure portion connected to a neck portion, and a dip tube extends centrally through the conical fluid enclosure to provide a fluid path to the tip of the conical fluid enclosure.
ISOLATION TUBE
A separation container for extracting a portion of a sample for use or testing and method for preparing samples for downstream use or testing are provided. The separation container may include a body defining an internal chamber. The body may define an opening, and the body may be configured to receive the sample within the internal chamber. The separation container may further include a seal disposed across the opening, such that the seal may be configured to seal the opening of the body, and a plunger movably disposed at least partially inside the internal chamber. The plunger may be configured to be actuated to open the seal and express the portion of the sample.
