Method and apparatus for adhesive application to barrier sheet
According to one embodiment, a process for applying an adhesive material onto a barrier sheet substrate is provided. The process includes providing an adhesive material having viscosity of at least about 10,000 centipoise at 250? F. The adhesive material is applied to a multitude of cavities on a surface of a first tool with a coater unit in close proximity to the surface. The adhesive material is transferred from the surface of the first tool to the substrate supported on a surface of a second tool and pressed against the surface of the first tool.
COATING DEVICE
The objective of the present invention is to provide a coating device capable of stably coating a coating agent onto a member to be coated, while preventing the supply of excess coating agent. A coating device is provided with: a roller which rotates in one direction; a tank in which an opening is formed facing the roller and which supplies a coating agent via the opening; a doctor blade provided at the side of the opening on the rotation exit side of the roller; and a doctor blade provided at the side of the opening on the rotation entry side of the roller; wherein a gap formed between the doctor blade and the roller is larger than a gap formed between the doctor blade and the roller.
Apparatus for coating a separator having collection chamber and method for coating the separator
Provided are an apparatus and method for coating a separator. The method includes supplying a coating solution to a receiving chamber; applying the coating solution received in the receiving chamber to a surface of the separator through a coating bar; collecting coating solution overflowing the receiving chamber by a collection chamber surrounding the receiving chamber; and returning coating solution from the collection chamber to the receiving chamber through a return line.
Activator applying device, hydraulic transfer apparatus incorporating the same activator applying device, and article with hydraulically transferred pattern manufactured with the same hydraulic transfer apparatus
Activator applying device including a receiving pan that stores an activator for activation of a transfer film, and a spreading roller that rotates while being dipped in the activator in the receiving pan and applies the activator that has adhered to the surface thereof in a dip section of the activator applying device to the transfer pattern in a different section of the activator applying device. The activator is fed to the receiving pan in an amount greater than the amount of the activator applied to the transfer pattern, and an excessive activator is discharged through a discharge port of the receiving pan. The activator is applied to the transfer pattern with the discharge port being located on the side where the activator is drawn up from the dip section, and the discharge port being located at the position of a streak caused by uneven dispersion of the additive pigment.
DEVICE FOR APPLYING A FLUID TO A ROLLER
A fluid distribution device, for applying a fluid onto a transfer roller, comprises includes an elongated chamber, at least one inlet for letting a fluid into the chamber, a longitudinal opening extending in the axial direction and adapted to face a transfer roller to allow fluid to exit the chamber and contact the transfer roller, and at least one wiper blade extending along at least a portion of the longitudinal opening. The chamber includes, at each of the two axial ends of the chamber, a wall separating the chamber from a cavity. The wall has a wall surface arranged to face the transfer roller when the device is in use. The wall is dimensioned so that the wall surface will be distanced from the transfer roller when the device is in use, so as to allow fluid to be present in a gap between the wall surface and the transfer roller.
GLUE DAM SEAL ASSEMBLY
The invention relates to a glue dam seal assembly for a glue application installation of a corrugated board plant. The glue dam seal assembly comprises a support installation and a first glue dam sealing element for tight disposal on a first roller. The first glue dam sealing element is pivotable in relation to the support installation. The glue dam seal assembly furthermore has a first urging installation for urging the first glue dam sealing element onto the first roller upon generating a first urging force acting on the first glue dam sealing element.
HIGH SPEED SEALANT STRIP APPLICATION
An applicator is disclosed for applying sealant to a moving substrate. The applicator includes a wheel having a periphery. A plurality of spaced apart footprints extends around the periphery of the wheel and each footprint has a sealant receiving feature. A reservoir is provided for containing a supply of sealant to be applied to the moving substrate. The wheel is rotatably mounted at least partially in the reservoir such that as the wheel rotates, each of the spaced apart footprints repeatedly moves through a supply of sealant in the reservoir to pick up a charge of sealant, around one side of the wheel toward the moving substrate, adjacent the moving substrate to transfer the sealant charge to the substrate, and around the other side of the wheel back toward the supply of sealant. At least one stop is formed on each of the footprints for inhibiting sealant picked up by the footprint from being urged rearwardly on the footprint by high speed rotation of the wheel. A backstop may be formed at a trailing end of each footprint and mid-stops may be formed between a leading end of each footprint and the trailing end.
Packaging Material
A method for forming a packaging material. The method can comprise moving a web of material in a downstream direction. The web can comprise fibrous material. The method further can comprise applying a moisturizing liquid to the web to at least partially wet the fibrous material. The applying the moisturizing liquid to the web can comprise receiving the web in a moisturizing station comprising at least, a drive roller and a transfer roller. The receiving the web in the moisturizing station can comprise moving the web between the drive roller and the transfer roller, and the applying the moisturizing liquid to the web can comprise engaging a face of the fibrous material with the moisturizing liquid on the transfer roller. The method further can comprise forming a film on the web, which can comprise applying a film-forming liquid to the web.
METHODS AND SYSTEMS FOR CREATING AEROSOLS
A process of creating an aerosol includes coating at least one of a pair of counter-rotating, adjacent rollers with a fluid, the pair of counter-rotating rollers defining a nip therebetween, rotating the counter-rotating rollers to cause the fluid to be drawn into an upstream side of the nip, causing fluid filaments of the fluid to form on a downstream side of the nip, the fluid filaments stretching between respective surfaces of the pair of counter-rotating rollers and breaking into droplets on the downstream side of the nip, and harvesting the droplets at the downstream side of the nip.
