A sealing system for applying resin to a cut edge of a composite structure, the cut edge having exposed carbon fibers. The system includes: a tool that comprises a nozzle and a resin source; a controller configured to control: a movement of the tool, and flow of resin from the resin source to the nozzle; and an application tip connected to the nozzle of the tool and configured to apply the resin to the cut edge of the composite structure. The application tip may have an exterior surface with a circular cross section and an indentation for a first length along a longitudinal axis of the application tip and a first end and a second end configured such that a resin flows from the first end to the second end.

A track generation device generates a track of a fluid discharge unit that discharges a fluid for applying the fluid to a surface of an object along a target application track. The track generation device includes a storage unit and a track generation unit. The storage unit stores a time-series model indicating a relationship between the track of the fluid discharge unit and an application track of the fluid in consideration of behavior of the fluid due to a viscosity, and the relationship is learned based on an actual track of the fluid discharge unit and an actual application track of the fluid. The track generation unit is configured to generate the track of the fluid discharge unit corresponding to the target application track using the time-series model upon reception of the target application track.

Kits for sprayer vehicles may include electrically-actuatable solenoids configured to selectably turn individual nozzle assemblies on and off when installed in ports from which check valves were removed, one or more wirelessly-controllable solenoid controllers, a first wiring harness to electrically connect the electrically-actuatable solenoids to the controller(s), a GPS antenna system that wirelessly communicates information identifying its position, bracketry configured to attach the GPS antenna system and the one or more controllers with the sprayer vehicle, a second wiring harness to electrically connect the controller(s) and the GPS antenna system with a source of electrical power on the vehicle, and a mobile device configured to wirelessly cause the one or more controllers to turn individual nozzle assemblies on and off based on a comparison of predetermined geographical boundaries and predefined relative positions of the individual nozzle assemblies to real-time location information received wirelessly from the GPS antenna system.

Resin application tip for a cut edge
A method and apparatus for applying resin to a cut edge of a composite structure, the cut edge having exposed carbon fibers. The method comprises scanning the cut edge of the composite structure with a vision system to form scanned data. The method further determines an application path for the cut edge of the composite structure using the scanned data. The method also applies the resin to the cut edge of the composite structure by controlling movement of an application tip along the application path using a controller.
MONITORING MATERIALS IN DISPENSING EQUIPMENT
A sensor, or sensors, are used to measure thermal characteristics of a material dispensed by dispensing equipment. The measured thermal characteristics can be used to ensure that the material that will be dispensed is thoroughly mixed so that once cured the material will have relatively consistent thermal characteristics across different regions.
