A method of reclaiming used tennis balls and transforming the material reclaimed from the tennis balls into soles for footwear. This multi-step process requires acquiring used tennis balls, grinding the tennis balls into ground rubber bits (usable elements) and tennis ball fuzz (unusable elements). The rubber and fuzz are passed through a screen which allows the rubber bits to exit the screen but retains the fuzz. The rubber is then mixed with an H.sub.2O and Polyurethane mixture to form a rubber mixture. This mixture is then pressed to a desired thickness in a hydraulic press, cured, and then cut out into a desired shoe sole shape and size which can be used to manufacture footwear.

In a sieve apparatus, a housing (1) is provided with an inlet section with a feed inlet for material to be sifted and a discharge section including at least one outlet. Means are provided for vibrating the screen mesh. The housing has two substantially vertical side walls (2), and a screen mesh (5) having at least one side edge (51) is supported by a support structure (6, 7) connected to the respective side wall (2). The support structure includes a support element (7) along each side wall and adapted to support the screen mesh (5). Each support element is provided as a support profile (7) having an inclined support surface (73) for the side edge (51) of the screen mesh and constituting a V-shaped structure protruding into the housing, said support surface (73) meeting a lower surface (74) in an apex (75) located at a distance from the side wall (2) inside the housing (1). Specifically, each V-shaped support profile (7) is formed as an integral part of the respective side wall (2).

Wire screenings and a method of forming the same

The screening may include a plurality of interwoven warp and weft wires where the weft wires are individually coated with a coating that expands and collapses to enhance performance and longevity of the screen. The coating of one or more weft wires may differ in at least one characteristic from the coating of one or more other weft wires. The warp wires can be individually coated to enhance performance and/or longevity of the screening. Binding blocks can be used in place of weft wires. The coating of one or more warp wires may differ in at least one characteristic from the coating of one or more other warp wires and/or one or more weft wires. The screening can include a plurality of uncoated weft and warp wires where the crimp depth of each wire forming each opening has a different crimp depth.

SCREENING PANEL

A mining screening panel which has a screening surface having spaced stainless steel profiled wires supported on transversely extending spaced rods or bars in which the cross sectional shape of the profiled wires is a vertical truncated diamond. The top portion is an inverted wedge with a flat top with depending diverging sides and the bottom portion is a wedge with dependent converging sides with a flat or convex bottom. The widest portion of the vertical diamond constitutes the notional screening surface and defines the size of the screening aperture. The raised top above the notional screening surface provides the wire a wear surface above the aperture and this provides the wedge wire and aperture with a longer wear life, thus reducing change out periods and reduction in premature failure of wedge wire, which in turn reduces operating costs.
