A sieve separator (8) comprising: an upstream chamber (9) comprising an inlet (16a) and an outlet (16b); a downstream chamber (11) comprising an outlet (12); a sieve (13) separating the upstream chamber (9) and downstream chamber (11) and having an upstream surface facing the upstream chamber and a downstream surface facing the downstream chamber; and nozzles (22) for supplying pressurized cleaning gas to the upstream chamber (9) and downstream chamber (11), wherein the nozzles (22) are positioned in the peripheral side wall of the upstream chamber (9) and the peripheral side wall of the downstream chamber (11) and are oriented to create a gas flow along the upstream surface and the downstream surface of the sieve (13).

The present invention provides an air-wash powder sieving apparatus for a powder coating system having a powder spray gun, a powder suction pump assembly, and a powder container/hopper. The said sieving apparatus includes a housing, a sieving section and at least one air jet section adapted within the housing, for directing compressed air on the sieve. The invention relates to a screening device and a method for screening powders. The device comprises a screening space comprising a first chamber and a second chamber, which chambers are arranged adjacent and have a common partition wall. The device comprises a screen which is placed obliquely or vertically in the screening device, wherein the screen forms at least a part of the common partition wall. The first chamber comprises a raw material inlet, a drive gas inlet, a float gas unit, and a residual particle outlet. The second chamber comprises a product material outlet and a rotatable blade, wherein the blade comprises nozzles which are configured for blowing gas against the screen. In addition, the invention relates to an assembly comprising a first and second screening device, wherein the product material outlet of a first screening device is connected to the raw material inlet of the second screening device.

A food processing apparatus includes a pressure vessel defining a compartment having an inlet end for receiving food product and an outlet end for discharging food product, an open-top screen mounted within the compartment and movable relative to the compartment between a first position, for food processing, and a second position, to facilitate cleaning, a rotatable auger mounted such that at least a portion of the auger is within the screen, the auger being operable to advance food product within the compartment from the inlet end of the pressure vessel toward the outlet end, and a transfer mechanism including a conduit in communication with the compartment, a fluid discharge positioned substantially within the conduit, and a pressurized fluid source in communication with the fluid discharge and operable to propel a fluid through the fluid discharge to move food product through the conduit.

Organic waste is polished to remove floatable contaminants prior to being biologically treated. In one application, pressed organic waste is polished before being sent to a wet anaerobic digester, optionally to be co-digested with wastewater treatment plant sludge. The organic waste is polished by flinging globs of the organic waste against a screen (3,4) while flowing air across the flinging globs. The polishing can be performed in a device having a rotor (6) with discrete paddles (9,10) inside of a cylindrical screen (2,3,4).
