Beverage can having a grommet
A drawn and wall ironed beverage can body, method for forming same, and a sealed and filled can, include a through-hole or aperture in the base. A grommet for charging a propellant in can is located in the aperture. The aperture has a burr that is located on the inboard side of the rim of the aperture. A method of forming a valve in the drawn and ironed beverage can body includes positioning a first tool in an interior of the can body, contacting an exterior surface of the base with a second tool such that the first and second tools are aligned, forming the aperture in the base, and inserting the grommet into the aperture.
Systems and related methods for manufacturing ring pull bottle crowns
Ring pull crowns require equipment and related methods for manufacturing. A method of manufacturing a ring pull crown includes forming a plurality of crown bodies from a first source material and forming a plurality of pull ring and tab assemblies from a second source material. In addition, such a method may include forming a plurality of ring pull crowns by combining each crown body of the plurality of crown bodies with a corresponding pull ring and tab assembly from the plurality of pull ring and tab assemblies. Also, such method may also include forming a circumferential skirt that descends below a top of each ring pull crown and removing the plurality of ring pull crowns from the first source material.
Concave can end
A container can end includes a concave dome shape and may forgo a peripheral reinforcing bead around the center panel. The tab may also be curved. Tooling for forming the end and a corresponding method are provided.
TRANSFER BELT ASSEMBLY FOR A SIX-OUT CONVERSION SYSTEM
A transfer belt assembly includes a plurality of transfer belts. The transfer belt assembly is structured to move any of an increased number of shells, a very increased number of shells, or an extremely increased number of shells through said conversion press.
SCORE DIE, SCORE DIE FORMING SYSTEM, AND ASSOCIATED METHOD
A score die including a body with a generally planar first surface. The first surface includes a score blade. The score blade has a number of cutting portions, and, each cutting portion has a substantially uniform cross-section.
End closure with large opening ring pull tab
An end closure for food and beverage containers is provided. The end closure comprises a central panel with a large opening defined by a score line and a safety fold positioned proximate at least a portion of said score line. The end closure further comprises a ring pull tab operably interconnected to the central panel proximate to a peripheral edge of the central panel. Prior to opening the end closure, a tail end of the ring pull tab is positioned over the tear panel. In some embodiments, the tear panel may completely detach from the end closure upon opening.
END CLOSURE WITH DOUBLE ANTI-MISSILE SCORE
An end closure for food and beverage containers provides controlled opening characteristics to prevent the unintentional missiling of a tear panel. The end closure comprises a score line that defines a portion of the tear panel, and the end closure may comprise one or more anti-missile features that inhibit the propagation of a fracture down a score line, which reduces the likelihood that a tear panel will inadvertently detach from the end closure and injure the user or another.
METHOD AND DEVICE FOR MANUFACTURING PEEL-OFF LIDS AS WELL AS A PEEL-OFF LID
A peel-off lid with a rolled-in section around the extraction opening is formed in such a way that before forming the rolled-in section a thin plastic strip is applied onto the collar of the lid ring. After forming the rolled-in section, the plastic strip is melted in order to reach a good adhesion of the plastic on the upper side and the underside of the peel-off lid in the rolled-in section. In this way it is possible to reach a practically hermetic sealing of the cutting edge of the peel-off lid in an inexpensive way and with the possibility to manufacture with high cadence.
