Metal material sintering densification and grain size control method
A method to achieve full densification and grain size control for sintering metal materials, wherein raw material powder is deagglomerated to obtain deagglomerated powder with dispersion. The deagglomerated powder is granulated by spray granulation. The granulated particles are processed by high-pressure die pressing and cold isostatic pressing. The powder compact is sintered by two-step pressureless sintering. The first step is to heat up the powder compact to a higher temperature and hold for a short time to obtain 75-85% theoretical density; the second step is to cool down powder compact to a lower temperature and hold for a long time. The two-step sintering can decrease the sintering temperature, so that the powder compact can be densified at a lower temperature. Thus, the obtained refractory metal product is densified, with ultrafine grains, uniform grain size distribution, and outstanding mechanical properties.
Method of making a cemented carbide
The present invention relates to a method of making a cemented carbide comprising mixing in a slurry a first powder fraction and a second powder fraction, subjecting the slurry to milling, drying, pressing and sintering. The first powder fraction is made from cemented carbide scrap recycled using the Zn recovery process, comprising the elements W, C, Co, and at least one or more of Ta, Ti, Nb, Cr, Zr, Hf and Mo, and the second powder fraction comprising virgin raw materials of WC and possibly carbides and/or carbonitrides of one or more of Cr, Zr, W, Ta, Ti, Hf and Nb. The first powder fraction is subjected to a pre-milling step, prior to the step of forming the slurry, to obtain an average grain size of between 0.2 to 1.5 μm.

Disclosed is a method for producing a high-entropy alloy superconductor bulk materials and wire materials, the method including a first step of mixing 4 to 10 types of metals selected from a group consisting of niobium (Nb), tantalum (Ta), titanium (Ti), hafnium (Hf), zirconium (Zr), tungsten (W), molybdenum (Mo), chromium (Cr), vanadium (V), and rhenium (Re) with each other to prepare a mixture and then milling the mixture to prepare mixed metal powders; and a second step of sintering the mixed metal powders prepared in the first step.

High-density thermodynamically stable nanostructured copper-based bulk metallic systems, and methods of making the same
High-density thermodynamically stable nanostructured copper-based metallic systems, and methods of making, are presented herein. A ternary high-density thermodynamically stable nanostructured copper-based metallic system includes: a solvent of copper (Cu) metal; that comprises 50 to 95 atomic percent (at. %) of the metallic system; a first solute metal dispersed in the solvent that comprises 0.01 to 50 at. % of the metallic system; and a second solute metal dispersed in the solvent that comprises 0.01 to 50 at. % of the metallic system. The internal grain size of the solvent is suppressed to no more than 250 nm at 98% of the melting point temperature of the solvent and the solute metals remain uniformly dispersed in the solvent at that temperature. Processes for forming these metallic systems include: subjecting powder metals to a high-energy milling process, and consolidating the resultant powder metal subjected to the milling to form a bulk material.

The alloy composition of the present invention includes: a Mo—Cr-based dendritic structure 3; and a Ni—Al-based interdendritic structure 5 that fills a periphery of the Mo—Cr-based dendritic structure 3. The alloy composition of the present invention can adopt a chemical composition I in which when Mo+Cr+Ni+Al=100 at. % holds, Ni+Al=15 to 50 at. % and Mo+Cr=50 to 85 at. % hold; or a chemical composition II in which Ni+Al=40 to 70 at. % and Mo+Cr=30 to 60 at. % hold.

R-T-B based permanent magnet
The present invention provides an R-T-B based permanent magnet having excellent magnetic properties and corrosion resistance even when Co content is small. The R-T-B based permanent magnet in which R is a rare earth element including one or more selected from Nd and Pr and one or more selected from Dy and Tb, T is a combination of Fe and Co, and B is boron. The R-T-B based permanent magnet further includes Zr. A total content of Nd, Pr, Dy, and Tb is 30.00 mass % to 32.20 mass %, Co content is 0.30 mass % to 1.30 mass %, Zr content is 0.21 mass % to 0.85 mass %, and B content is 0.90 mass % to 1.02 mass % with respect to 100 mass % of the R-T-B based permanent magnet.
